Holy shit, me too! It was even the demo!

Except I was maybe 10 or 11.

Hmmm...I don't think the really hardcore violence came along until I played Fallout 3, what with the exploding limbs and other loveliness. My parents tend to be annoying restrictive about the kinds of games I play. They're hardasses for following the ESRB ratings.

Since then, I've moved on to new heights of gore in Team Fortress 2 and Left 4 Dead.

Turok 2: Seeds of Evil on N64 had some sick death animations. It also had the cerebral bore, a weapon that locks onto the brains of intelligent creatures and then clamps on and bores through their skull into their brains, complete with the dentist drill-style sound effect and spurt of brain matter from the back of their heads. Then it exploded. Easily my favourite weapon ever.

I would say Call of Duty. The first game I ever played where you killed people. That's the first violent game I OWNED though. This doesn't count the one's I had played.

My brother's friend lent him Vice City when I was about 8. So yeah, that.

Hmm... I guess it was Mortal Kombat, but it could have been Doom, too. Pick whichever you like ;)

i would say punch out arcade, granted there where no blood, but i remeber my mom and dad forbidding me to play it because it was way to violent, but since it was the only arcade game at the kiosk next to my school we still played it and felt pretty cool playing such an violent game (must have been 8 back then)

Barbarian, for the Commodore 64. The graphics were amazing, and the attack where you'd spin around and decapitate your opponent made me love computer games with a fervor only an 8 year old on a sugar rush can muster.
The small green goblin shuffling into view from the wings and dragging the decapitated head across the screen was the icing on an already too delicious cake.

A couple of years later I played Barbarian 2 on the Amiga, and my mind was blown to smithereens. The same spin attack was possible here, but the updated graphics was to amazing to be true.
