When people do the first thing, it's like they just ignore whatever the thing they posted on entirely just to say they were the first. Either way, that just people. I don't see how anyone gets upset over it. Unless it's causing you physical pain or something.

I think it'd be quite funny to have a script which automatically moves their post to the end of the thread, locks it from editing and keeps it there, no matter how many people post afterwards. I'm sure it'd be fairly simple to do and would make them look like a total idiot as they wouldn't be able to change their post.
