Wonderful more shot on shitteo jump scare horror films. I was hoping this breed of film was beginning to die out with how even paranormal actshitty is now getting direct to dvd films, but alas I might be wrong.

I smell a clone wars is coming

You know the drill, one original/ blockbuster movie come, it will sprout out several terrible clones!

OP- I more opted for a minimovie but as a feature length film? I hightly doubt the film will be exactly like the first game (or are they going to make the secruity guard so stupid for ricking his life for minium wages?) without padding in flashback and maybe some epilogue like in that upcoming machinima miniseries?

Hmm, well since the game is not huge on gameplay and more about sound and atmosphere its certainly a better fit for a movie then most.

I don't know how they will make something movie length, but it could be a nice chance for scott to go into a bit more detail into the setting. I hope they have some money to make some convincing animatronic props instead of CGI or something silly.

Eh. I'm of the opinion that remakes and adaptations do not destroy the things which they are based off of, so I feel like regardless of how good or bad it is the FNaF games will still exist as they always have. And perhaps a film will draw even more people to the original who wouldn't have tried it before. So I'm going to set my expectations not too high (unless trailers push me in another direction), and if it's good or decent it will be a pleasant surprise, and if it's bad then nothing of value was lost.

What would really be meta is if they did a game adaptation of the film adaptation.

I hope it's a wonderful, terrible, campy movie in the line of a lot of Jason movies; worth watching not because it's particularly scary but because it's funny.

Eh, don't worry ladies and gents. This movie has a 25% chance of coming out in the next 3 year, 25% chance of coming out at all, and a 50% chance of being stuff in development hell for so long that the rights revert back to Cawthon. Movie producers buy the rights to random crap that might be have public interest all of the time and likely never get beyond a plot outline or rough draft. Even back when it was the most bankable game IP, the Halo never got off the ground, and that was a top selling franchise with Microsoft investing tons of money into it.

The good thing here is Scott should now have extra money to make more games or invest in larger studio. (Hopefully he signed a deal that got him some money upfront.) The only downside is he'll have to talk to people who might want to dumb down his story, but he can always say only the games are canon, if the movie is made and sucks.

Five Nights at Freddy's came out of no-where (just like the jump-scares within the game itself)
The very first thing you say, and it is the exact opposite of the truth. What makes Five Nights at Freddy's work is that the jump-scares don't come out of nowhere. The game is all about keeping track of incoming jump scares and shutting them down before they can jump scare you.

Changing this is the worst thing about FNaF3, in my opinion.

I will really LOVE the reaction of the very serious fans of the series.
Like:
"Why the murderer wasn't purple in the movie?"
"Chica isn't so sexy!!!"
"Golden Freddy isn't a physical suit!!!"
"Why the Phone Guy have a different voice?"
Something like that.

But I hope at least if Scott help the director to be faithful to the original story and not make it very Hollywood-like...
I hope for a prequel of ALL the games as a movie. A movie telling the murders of the children in the first dinner.

What else are they going to do? Movie adaptations of Minecraft and Angry Birds?

Oh, wait.
Yeah, or Tetris.

Fuck.
Waait, there is a Tetris movie in the making:

HOLY MOTHER OF GOD THERE IS A TETRIS MOVIE!!!!!!!!!!

Well, to be fair, maybe it is a Biography of the creator of Tetris, not an action blockbuster film.

Didn't Scott basically come out and say that the whole reason he wasn't making a FNAF 4 was because the story was "complete" this seems to go completely against that statement if its true...

If this is legitimate though... I don't know historically these things have NOT been good, and I am concerned WB will just throw out a cheap and quick movie to cash in on it's popularity.... I don't know I will have to see what happens, for now I am being very cautious
While I'm not particularly hopeful, it's possible that he said that with the movie in mind, or that the movie will retread what's covered in the games.
Huh must have missed the part about maybe making a movie... Oh well I really don't see why this exists, as lets face it the 3rd game wrapped it up pretty well, but I will reserve judgement until it's out
Actually....If you get deeper in the lore of FNAF, you will see there are a lot more things to be covered in the future.
After all we don't know nothing about:
Murderer Identity
Shadow Bonny
How Balloon Boy, Mangle and Toy Chica are connected with the Arcade Videogames
Who were the original Mascots
Why they created this Hybrid Suit in the first place.
WHY, oh WHY we don't know what it have all to do with the demonic message in FNAF1

Nope.

"It's a very big, epic sci-fi movie."
Well, ok. This might be VERY difficult to be a good movie, but I will try be faithful with my policy:
First I will see the movie or the reactions of the reviewers, then judge.

Sounds like an extremely clichéd, generic as hell movie plot based on what I've read. I'll pass on this one.

It could make a good prequel, showing the kids being kidnapped and murdered by the purple man. Then ending with him getting killed in Springtrap. They just have to do this right and everything should work out.

Wasn't he killed in springtrap at some point between the first and third games, though? FNaF is so... less than upfront about its exposition. XD

A movie about it could work, I guess... but I don't know how a movie could incorporate the ridiculously obtuse serious of non-intuitive easter egg hunts the games make you go through to even tell they have a story to begin with.

Oh boy, it's Angry Birds 2.0. I can't wait to be getting up in morning to the sound of my FNAF alarm clock so I can eat my FNAF breakfast cereal, then clean my teeth with my FNAF toothpaste.

Joking aside, this seems like it could go both ways, but I wouldn't be surprised if the film has no intentions other than wearing the name like a hat while cashing the pay-check. It really seems like the kind of thing that only works as a small indie game with a rabid fanbase, rather than feature length film.
