they're both good, and both crap
PS3 has no games, but it has dependable hard ware
360 breaks at the drop of a hat, but has a lot of games, and i really like the concept of achievements

so why not just flame the crap out of the Wii
it actually deserves the flame

like this, "you know if Nintendo comes out with a second Wii, called the Wii 2, in Japan it would be called the Wii Ni" ha ha, get it
Dude have you been living under a rock? I haven't heard the "PS3 has no games" complaint since the year it came out. Plenty of games have come out since then. And I don't own a 360 but I also haven't heard about it breaking for years. And both have a form of achievements, with PS3 having trophies, so why does that factor in?

OT: I think that people who start flame wars do it because they feel that by buying their console they took a side, and they feel the need to fight for that side. That or they need to qualify their purchase. I would never try to start a war, but I can understand why someone would feel the need to. I'd rather defend both sides of the argument and come to a neutral agreement.

I did not make the name like that for such reason, It was my 2nd topic, and I thought people could take a joke and look at the OP. Now, let's set aside our disagreements? This is getting kind of rough.

EDIT: And let's all have a nice cup of tea. You seem angry.
I'm actually pretty happy, the thing is I have other things happening in my life and this thread means nothing to me.
I just don't take people bossing me around despite how happy I am. It's against my nature. You still are unwilling to admit that you may have made a mistake, instead you want to blame my "anger" even though you have no way of knowing how i feel or what I'm thinking.
Try to understand this, if you did the title to be funny, fine. Just don't act like an internet bouncer when somebody *gasp* has a conversation regarding the topic.
Mkay, so are we done with this squabble or are you going to carry on?

If not then I offer this formal apology:
I am sorry for intruding on your conversation, sorry for calling you a fanboy, sorry for naming this topic lazily, and sorry for thinking you were angry. Also, sorry for acting like an internet bouncer, and sorry for putting off this apology.

Seriously; I'm speaking words of wisdom, Let it Be.

I'm probably the exact opposite of someone who participates in a fanboy fight, I bought an XBox 360 but I fully acknowledge that it probably wasn't the better choice for me (I'm mostly a PC gamer); the only XBox 360 exclusive I really have any interest in is Tales of Vesperia (which is available on PS3, but only in Japan.) Everything else I really want is multi-platform, and the RRoD really worries me sometimes. I do like some of the XBLA titles, but the PSN offers some of my favourite PS1 classics, so it's really a tie there. (I could own a PSP and get PS1 games for that, though, so that's always something.)

Let it Be, by the Beatles; great song. One of the lyrics is "Mother Mary comes to me, speaking words of wisdom, let it be."

And I WAS being serious about the apology, though it did sound kinda fake eh?

EDIT: Is it just me or is page 3 abnormally long?

I don't know that much about the PS3 but i don't recall ever hearing trophies having points attached
the no games argument is a stretch, especially because the PS3 is backwards compatible and the 360 isn't
the 360 does break if you look at it funny
I chose the 360, and I chose wrong because most of the games I own came out on everything with a screen, except halo 3 but who cares?

it doesn't matter, look at the exclusive titles and pick which ones you like the most
don't buy a console, buy games, then choose a console based on that

all that matters is that you don't buy a Wii
unless you're a pedophile

windowless vans should come with a free Wii included

Really? Oh gee, well that turned into something bad didn't it? I was annoyed by your unrelenting antagonizing of me, but really, I'm glad we can put this behind us.

I was never one to back down from a challenge, but then you just destroyed me and I felt like I should've made nice with you before I left. Can we still be friendly or will you forever hold a grudge?

So I'm asking, is this dispute over?

EDIT: unrelated to our dispute, I'm hearing a lot of people say that the 360 isn't backwards compatible, I'm restoring equilibrium by saying that at least MINE is; as I have at least 3 Xbox games.

It's so silly, PCs are sooo much better.

I don't know. I've long since given up trying to understand the fanboy.

Firstly, I have a PS3, a Wii, and a Gaming PC

Its because fanboys are stupid. I have friends who are sony/PC fanboys, and they won't even acknowledge the Wii as a console. I got a friend really interested in "The Last Story" game coming out, and then I told him it was on the Wii and he just stopped caring. Theyre also easy to overlook a flaw in the PS3, but find any little thing wrong with the XBOX 360. I think its not about justifying their purchase, but just being elitist. Then again, one of them did have to Xbox 360s break on him.

Not sure if that's a song lyric, but anyways I'm glad we can be mature humans and start talking about- whatever this topic was for.

I don't recall you mentioning anything about points, and trophies don't actually have points attached but rather they use a tier system to add a percentage to your gamer level depending on the tier. Also I don't entirely understand your "the no games argument is a stretch" comment, and I don't know what awesome PS3 you've been playing but it's not backwards compatible, at least not the later ones. You can buy some PS1 titles from PSN, if that's what you're referring to.

And if you do regret buying a 360, don't. It looks awesome to me and Halo looks like a series that I may buy a 360 just to play.

Lastly, I do own a Wii, just like 97.2% of the population, and it does have a few good titles. That's why children are so drawn to the ones integrated into vans.

look at the exclusives and pick the ones you like, works in theory. When the ps3 came out, i decided to get that because I wanted MGS 4.....then I found out SC conviction was a 360 exclusive.
Needless to say, I didn't have a job yet so i sold my ps3 and got a used 360 that FUCKING BROKE and too this day I regret it. I bought a good 360 but I sold that because I thought "oh I can buy the new one when it comes out" but of course I got laid off so in conclusion FUCK!!!!!!!
ahem...you get the idea. I need a good pc.
i feel your pain

I own an Xbox 360 and in my opinion the PS3 and its competitor are both excellent consoles with various strengths and weaknesses.

Our tribal, competitive nature.

Humans always separate themselves into factions and develop a need to show their superiority to the others.

Few million years more of evolution should iron out the console war.

Starting a thread saying "Flame War" is a very bad idea. Even if you don't want one to break out, it eventually will because one always does. You've already jinxed it though, so I'll be off now.

PS3's aren't backwards compatible? okay never mind 360's the way to go
and the PS3 does have games, it's just most of them are multi platform so i don't count them
I like being able to see my gamerscore on the 360 it's like a running meter of how I'll never have a girlfriend
what are the good Wii games, that don't have the word "Wii" in the title, sorry for the specification but I don't need to hear Wii sports and Wii Fit, and aren't multi platform games, because...well because. and I'll just say Mario Galaxy and SSBB right now so you don't have to type them

what do you think about Kinnect and Move?

The PS3 also shows a score based on your trophies, but it shows how many levels you are in the "Not Getting Laid" chart. And I never played Mario Galaxy and SSBB was "meh", but Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess was amazing and the new Metroid looks great, DeadRising: Chop Till you Drop killed a lot of hours for me, and Dead Space: Extraction was awesome.
And lets not get into the Kinnect and Move since that really isn't appropriate for this thread that we are taking up space in, but I will say I am cautiously optimistic.

My ps3 was backwards compatible. Maybe they took that feature out but I don't see why they would. I think it's just certain models that are not BC.
Of course another thing people don't mention is that many good games (MGS 3, hitman BM) have BC issues on the ps3, at least for me they did. Constant freezing for both.
Yeah, BC was removed, at least when I got mine (which I'm very sad about). I don't remember why but I think only the early models had it.
