There is no such thing as a flawless band, that idea is stupid beyond all belief. Even composers such as Mozart and Beethoven were not perfect. There are Flawless albums though, Kind of Blue by Miles Davis being the best example.

OT: See, Godspeed You! Black Emperor are my favourite band of all time but their music isn't really divided into songs... I love all their work apart from their occasional drone tracks.
Are you not a fan of Drone music or do you just not think GY!BE did them well? I did read your review on Sputnikmusic a while back and I was not sure what your opinion on the genre was, I happen to love Drone music and thought that GY!BE were able to translate their sound well into a genre that is disliked by the majority of casual listeners. Just curious.

I pretty much *only* listen to artists that I like 99% of the songs of. Two or three songs that I actively dislike is the most I'll take from an artist before my favorite tracks of their music are relegated to a new folder within a "Miscellaneous" directory under my "Artists" directory. The rest of the music is deleted.

Artists:
Assemblage 23 (Tom Shear)
Audio Paradox (Josh Pyle)
The Azoic (Kristy Venrick)
Espermachine (James Heffington)
Lights of Euphoria (Jimmy Machon)
Lost Signal (Charles Rehill)
Manhole Vortex (Paul Seegers)
Tom Lehrer (Tom Lehrer...obviously)
VNV Nation (Ronan Harris)

Miscellaneous:
Depeche Mode
Portishead (Beth Gibbons)

The Bronx have no bad songs, they're so damned good that it pisses me off a little bit. I guess they might get a bit samey, but generally the each song has its own hook so I could probably listen to them all day.

The Koffin Kats

Every song is drunken fun and great driving music. I think its the spirit and tempo that make it so endlessly enjoyable for me.

I haven't heard a Pink Floyd song I didn't like, but even I wouldn't say they were a flawless band.

If you don't count half the songs on "One Hot Minute" Then the Red Hot Chili Peppers are pretty much completely flawless, they're absolutely brilliant and overall an incredible band

But, I'd say The Fratellis are basically perfect ^_^ They've only got 2 official albums, and every single song is just totally 100% perfect

They're actually back together now ^_^ (broke up 4 years ago) and they're recording new stuff :D I have no doubt that their new material will blow my mind

Yeah, well, that's just like, your opinion, man. I happen to think Oceania is just as good as Mellon Collie if not better, I will agree that he has churned out a lot of crap over the years.

OT: Feeder. I mention them in every music thread because they are completely flawless and criminally underrated.

I've liked every song from Lenka's two albums (as a solo artist, that is). I think I've liked every song from Lights, too.

That's about all I can think of. Taylor Swift and Nightwish are close, but I can think of at least one or two songs from those.

So are there any bands you listen to that simply don't have a single song you don't like? For me its pretty rare that I find a band that fits this, as pretty much every band I've listened to seems to have one or two songs that I hate or simply don't like.

The two bands that achieve this for me are System of a Down and Cancer Bats, I could listen to both of these bands endlessly on repeat for hours and never get tired of them or ever want to skip a song. Lamb of God comes close but their New American Gospel album has a few songs I'm not too fond of.

So share me your 'flawless bands', I can predict that The Beatles might come up from a lot of people, I personally haven't listened to enough of their songs to decide.
Dream Theater

Even the "Average" songs are still worth listening too. Plus they created two of the greatest songs ever: Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence and Metropolis Pt 2: Scenes from a Memory (Scene Nine). Also the latter was the greatest album ever made.

Screw all the naysayers.
Yay, I have found a fellow DT fan.

And screw the naysayers who hated Systematic Chaos! That album gave us "In the Presence of Enemies", one of the best things I've ever heard.

Any band is flawless if I listen to their shittiest song for a long enough time. Having said that, Daft Punk is the closest to me for this category.

Nope, Beck is my favourite artist by far but he has some crap. He always tries to do new things and experiment. The only bands I can think of who have no bad songs are bands like RHCP who just keep following the same formula and are boring to me.
They used to do some incredibly diverse stuff (the Uplift Mofo Party Plan album, their cover of 'Higher Ground') but I'm With You was just awful, Frusciante really held that band together in my opinion.

OT: I don't know, I used to think a lot of different bands were flawless but I grow out of music so quickly nowadays it's hard to keep track.
*begins looking through iTunes*
Alright, from the 200 artists on my computer, bands from which I could listen through their entire discography without getting bored and changing to a different artist are Cardiacs, The Deli Creeps (The fact that they only have 1 actual album probably discounts them though), Mr Bungle, Opeth, Psychostick, Queens Of The Stone Age, Sikth, and Tool. The only band there which has no songs that I dislike, however, would be Mr. Bungle.

Another DT fan here, although I've listened to them so much in the past year I've sort of burnt myself out. Also, Portnoy stated during the making of video that Systematic Chaos was supposed to be a more raw and standard heavy album, and I think they pulled that off without straying too much from their own sound perfectly. Octavarium and Metropolis Pt.2 still remain their masterpieces for me, though.

Wow! Lot of great taste in music here.

Yup, I'd have to toss myself in with the Queen fans. Any time I put a disk of theirs in the stereo it tends to go straight from start to finish. And usually multiple times.

Same goes for any Pink Floyd album...even "Piper at the Gates of Dawn" or "Ummagumma".

And I have to say...I never met a KISS song I didn't like (even "Beth")

Opeth - Hands down complete masters at their craft

Lamb of God - Always been brutal.

Rehab - Not really well know, and they've been kinda dancing with the same songs (same lyrics but different beats), but their first three albums were very solid.

Flaw - They only released 2 albums before they broke up, but both albums were solid.

I've seen them mentioned a few times already and I really want to say it too, but System Of A Down isn't a flawless band for me. All because I hate of two songs side by side on an album. I really dislike Vicinity of Obscenity and She's Like Heroin.

The only band that for me hasn't made any songs I couldn't listen to is Blind Guardian.

I want to say Led Zeppelin, but there are one or two of their experiments that kinda... failed >.<

Still, as flawless as it gets.

No. If a band only produces song that you like, then they have no variation, sing the same thing over and over and thus are crap. If they have variation and do different things then I can guarantee you that at least one song will be different from what you like and thus they aren't flawless. Luckily it doesn't really matter since you have the ability to choose things and listen to things you like as opposed to those you don't.

Well I don't mean bands that are literally flawless, just bands that have never personally let you down, that to your unique musical tastes don't have a single bad song. This is about opinions and not facts.

I want to say Opeth as one of my flawless bands but to be honest I haven't listened to enough of their songs to make that judgement. Still, haven't heard a song by them I haven't liked.
