Ah HIM, I like everything before Dark Light. Dark Light and everything afterwards was complete crap in my opinion.
Dark Light is definitely where their sound sort of shifts. Though I don't think it's, like, as bad as Panic! at the Disco's Pretty. Odd., which was an entirely different genre [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h0QEk9LzsIs] altogether from its predecessor [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SchgoM0DEwI]. Or Muse's The 2nd Law [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PRGsN2piqJg] compared to... anything else they've done previously.

In which ways did it become 'complete crap' for you?

Same goes for any Pink Floyd album...even "Piper at the Gates of Dawn".
You under-rate Piper dude, it's Floyd's second best non-live album! (Best album is Live at Pompeii, then Wish You Were Here for those wondering)

I like Deluxe
Sadly it seems like they haven't made many songs that I can find, but the stuff that I have found is pretty great.

No. If a band only produces song that you like, then they have no variation, sing the same thing over and over and thus are crap. If they have variation and do different things then I can guarantee you that at least one song will be different from what you like and thus they aren't flawless. Luckily it doesn't really matter since you have the ability to choose things and listen to things you like as opposed to those you don't.
You're fucking kidding, right?
You cannot be serious. I honestly can't accept this as a serious statement it's so ridiculous.

I think I love you. I really like The Incident, listening to it in one sitting is the only way to do it.
Iron Maiden for me, I love every song.

It really depends on the band. If they want to repetitive, they will be. If they won't, they won't be repetitive. I see Twilight_guy's point, but it's not true half the time.

Tool and Gojira definitely count. I don't recall any songs my Opeth or Animals As Leaders that I didn't like. MUSE would count too if this were still 2008. That's all I can think of.

It seemed like they weren't even trying anymore. A lot of the songs sounded very similar with hardly any variation. I wish they would've built upon their heavier side as shown in "Love Metal" which is by far their best album.

The Beatles.
Every last song they ever wrote is just cake served to me by a pretty lady.
For my ears.

I wouldn't call any band "Flawless" as that would infer that perfection is in fact possible, and considering that the flaws are what make life interesting, I don't see perfection itself to be kindof paradoxical, complete perfection(everything always works out for people in a positive way and nobody gets sick or even has to try anymore) is boring, therefor not perfect, so true perfection allows for flaws to exist, because there is struggle and challenge again, which adds interest to the world again, but due to flaws and struggle existing it is no longer perfect.

Anyhow, taking my understanding into account and not just leaving it there, contributing and such y'know, POINT FORM HO!

- Lamb of God

- Mozzart(Sure he was a composer and musician and not a band, but this musical asskicker deserves to be on my list, he composed some seriously awesome stuff)

- Primordial

- Daft Punk

- The Beatles

- CCR

Every other band/musician/group seems to have something I don't enjoy in their retinue.

The Smiths. All of their albums and compilations are just brilliant.
Radiohead. Save for the atrocity that is Pablo, Honey? they have not made a bad album.

I think if Amon Amarth went back and remastered some of their earlier stuff I wouldn't be able to complain about a single song.

Iron Maiden if you don't count the songs from the Blaze period.

Also I haven't heard a single pink floyd song I disliked.

Maybe Pantera but I haven't listened to enough of their stuff.

Ayreon'd be pretty close, if he got rid of the spoken intro tracks that start most of the concept albums

Have you listened to Venus Doom? That went back to the heavier sound. Might be right up your alley.

No band is flawless, however, the ones that come closest are probably Radiohead (there isn't a single Radiohead album that I haven't grown to appreciate, although I initially didn't like In Rainbows), Red Hot Chili Peppers, Queen, and The Raconteurs.

Lights of Euphoria (Jimmy Machon)
First time of ever heard anyone other than me mention Lights Of Euphoria. Ever.

For me it would have to be Thrice. Every album of theirs is different, some radically so, but each one is a well crafted musical work of art. Their early stuff is a bit rough and ready but it's urgent and powerful. Their last two albums were more introspective and polished. With the possible exception of their Air album I don't think they've really put a foot wrong.
When I'm on a long trip I just select them as the artist on my phone, set it to random play and happily listen away and not skip a song.

I also have to mention Alexisonfire. Apart from 'You'll Burn First' there isn't a song of theirs that I skip when it comes up, and that's spanning four albums.

Nine Inch Nails

For such a long-running band, it's quite impressive that I've liked every song that I've heard even though I've heard most, if not all, of them. Trent Reznor is truly a musical genius.

EDIT: Also, I'm [sub](jokingly)[/sub] appalled at the lack of Reznor loving in this thread

Oh not under rating "Piper" at all, man. In fact I was in a band that used to cover "See Emily Play".

I'm just saying that I like the Syd stuff as much as the classic line-up stuff.

(Though I'm more partial to "Dark Side", myself (probably because I had a "unique herbal experience" the first time I heard it.))
