There is no way those cards are worth $100,000 and there is no way anyone is willing to pay $10,000 for a Black Lotus.

OK, I just checked ebay completed listing and all I can say is I despair for humanity.

Wow that's really sad. As a Magic player myself I can't really understand why someone would take another life over cards. Yea, there are cards out there I'd love to have but not enough to kill someone, not even a Black Lotus.

So the twins knew him and played with him? How can you meet and play with a person and pretend to be their friend whist you secretly plot to murder them? They must have had some fucked up lives. Dicks
Outside of warfare, most killing is done between people who know each other.

You're many times more likely to be killed by a friend or family member than by a stranger.
you're right _> therefore i must kill my friends before they kill me...
(sorry i thought it was funny...)

more seriously, these guys are complete pricks i mean i like magic as much as the next guy but still... man cmon.

Truly unfortunate.

On another note...

It's kind of funny how a lot of the commenters on that article are Magic players taking issue with the comparison being made to D&D, in particular is the one guy saying that they don't play as two wizards in Magic (which you actually are), because they don't want to be associated with something that's so nerdy.

I used to play Magic and I can kind of understand the idea of stealing cards to sell for money, assuming that was what the twins were after. Problem is, I was a kid back than and I now know it's only worth if someone is willing to pay. And how the heck will they explain acquiring a Black Lotus out of the blue? Plus murder is a stupid and lazy way of covering up your tracks.

Personally, I suspect it's more than just about the cards i.e drugs, debts. I miss playing Magic and I still admire professional players, but murdering a person over cards is just plain infantile.

In response to GunsmithKitten,

There are varying degrees of being a nerd. I have never played magic or any card or D&D games, I don't watch anime or hentai, I ain't a furry or a brony. I have an xbox and play it once in a while, I only have like 4 games. I don't play online or enter tournaments, just casually by myself. I'm also only 24 and had my own place for over a year so no basement dweller here.

I'd say I'm not that much of a nerd. I really only joined this site because I like Yahtzee's videos and wanted to be able to comment once and a while.
