Maybe I need to work my quad-core back into the mix. The team has 5000 points on me at the moment. I'LL FIND THE CURE TO ALZHEIMER'S, CANCER, AND PARKINSON'S BEFORE YOUR TEAM YET! JUST YOU WAIT!
[small]Sarcasm makes me happy too.[/small]
Thanks.

Damn i've only been folding a month on a team of 1 and i'm ahead of your whole team LOL.

that's pretty sad. 1 guy w/ a PS3 & 9800GTX+ folding 8 hours a night for a month > 8 ppl on Escapist team
I've been folding for two weeks on this account, and I'm top in the team.
Would you join the team though?

Yes because my PC uses the same amount of energy while browsing the internet as it does while running at full capacity and a GPU running at full clock. HURR HURR HURR HURR HURR.
Excuse the caps.

It definitely costs electricity, thus it's not 100 % free.
Ok. My apologies. A computer running F@h 24/7 costs 40 cents a day (based on average electrical company) in electricity. A PC running w/o F@hwould cost probably 25 cents a day.
That's less than a fucking light bulb ($1+ a day).

You think I'm wrong? google it.

Ok, I think you're wrong and so googled it.
A 288w draw machine with very average spec (8800gt etc) running 24/7 totals at 78p per day = ~1.24$ = 456.86$ per year. Considering that my GTX260 alone tops out at ~180w, well you can work out the rest.

All stats taken from a google result, as requested.

I'm just saying that running any process in the background will make your processor work more, even just a little bit. The processor then requires more power, which may or may not be less than a light bulb.

I was just saying it does cost money to have it running.
