I'll be honest: I liked the game up to a very particular part near the end. It has flaws, but it was fun. My opinion of the game was that I was going to eventually buy it once there were a few price drops.
However...Then I got to this particular part. I'll just tell you what it is because the scene was hyped up to high heaven in previews: The part where you must use the Force to pull a Star Destroyer from low orbit and crash it into the planet. Simply put, this was the most frustrating part I've encountered in a game in years. It is tedious, hard, and just plain annoying. They took what could have been an awesome sequence and screwed the pooch so hard that the pooch died. The on screen prompts are flawed; sometimes they'll give you the wrong instructions. Worse yet, you must take a break every 15 or so seconds to kill a wave of TIE Fighters. Your progress at pulling the Star Destroyer down isn't lost, but you must then take the time to turn it and get it into the right position again before pulling it further down. All in all, this sequence is like trying to pleasure a woman who has a severe case of frostbite on her ****.
I hated this part so much that it actually changed my opinion of the game. You heard me right. The game went from being something I enjoyed to being something I completely despise. I brought the game back to Blockbuster early and do not intend to play it ever again. I didn't even finish the game because I couldn't get past that part.
So I suppose that The Force Unleashed should get a medal or something. Never before has a single sequence completely, drastically altered my opinion of a game.
