What next, a movie of Garrys Mod?

That would be cool actually.

Yes. This is a strange world.
Ninja'd!
Great movie BTW

OT- Why SPORE of all things? This will be a bad movie with absolutely no potential based on a bad game with an infinite amount of potential.

The movie will start as a quest for survival, become a tale of personal growth, morph into a story of how love and dance lead to brotherhood, extend itself into a yarn about the tragedy of war and the human condition, then finally get somehow more boring when it turns into star trek without a point.

Great. Game movies made from good games are never good, so this... this will just be awful.

Uwe Boll is attached to direct, Michael Bay to produce. A rather unique DRM has been invented for this movie, nanobots are injected in to the bloodstream of movie goers preventing them from remembering what has occured in the movie, EA states that this is to prevent pirating by way of people telling others what has happened in it thus robbing EA of it's hard earned monies.

make a movie based on a game that has no real storyline? how?
it'll probably be just six hours of a 9 year old sitting in front of a computer screen

So, the bit that made Spore fairly unique will be over and done with inside the opening credits, the rest of the film will be some predictable fairy tale/fable involving either a cave dwelling or space fairing vaguely-not-human race voiced by famous actors.

It'll still be the best game film ever...

I would watch it just to see how they make a movie out of Spore. (probably some user created race vs. the Grox(or whatever they were called))

That is terrible. I'd take a Sims movie over that, because at least a Sims movie can attack the issue of a God who just screws with you because he's bored, and wants to light you on fire.

Spore? Oh, look, little green abominations of science and evolution.

I love you a little bit right now.

And here I was, thinking that the Sims movie was the most stupid game-to-movie idea.

Of course, EA just had to be involved in both ideas.

Wonderful. Because there aren't a million better stories and concepts floating around.
Hell, Sly Cooper would make a better movie.

Wait, it really would, wouldn't it?

Sweet. Who wants to make a CGI movie?

Not content with merely conquering the world of computer gaming, EA's Spore is getting the feature film treatment courtesy Twentieth Century Fox.
That's a bit of a bold statement given how subpar that game was. This coming from a guy that (before SPORE) would have run around giving hand jobs to Maxis staff.

That game crushed what was up till then blind faith in Maxis :p.

The creature creator was interesting but every single play space for the stuff you made was so bland that it put gaming to shame.

Little Big Planet is pretty damn crafty without losing every ounce of fun.
