Free hugs!

Hugs are always welcome in my book. This guy's philosophy has spread to Northern Michigan. I see people with signs like that all over the place.

This inspired me to do the same thing, so i got a pen and paper, and i put the words "free hugs" on the paper. And i went out into the middle of Dublin. Just holding that sign. I barely got any hugs, but i still felt good after doing it.

There are no selfless acts.

Anyhow, if that floats your particular boat, feel free It's a great gesture.

I let another person, beat the living crap out of me, in front of his friends, and a girl he likes.

That way, the guy looks tough, and i am left on the ground with a broken nose.

I don't see how letting someone beat me up is a gain for me. Apart from loss of blood, I wouldn't achieve anything by doing it.

Don't organize a food drive, don't create a great work of art, don't convince the local GAP store to donate $352.31 to the local SPCA, write free hugs on a sheet of paper and hang out in the local mall.

Yoish. Last year I walked from Calgary to Edmonton to raise funds for and bring recognition to the children in Darfur. Right now I'm voluntarily working on a game design text book as a component of the new Youth game design class series I've been hired to teach to make it more meaningful for the kids taking the class.

Tell me "free hugs" is just the first step to something grander.

Besides, not everyone has the endurance to walk that far, or do all the stuff that you can.
For the most part, people just do what they can. You have to give them some credit for making people smile, at the end of the day, that's all your doing aswell. Just making some people smile, and brighten up there day.
