I usually grab a few of them with my thumb and finger and then shove them in my mouth. Also no I have them as they are (no salt, kepchup etc).

However if I am in Mc Donald, I tend to place a few of them inside the burger by removing the top bum and place it and fill it up.

I eat one by itself to check the salt percentage. If it's not enough, I add some. If it's too much, I lightly shake each fry before I eat it.

I then dip it in ketchup, and stuff the entire thing into my mouth.

What it says on the title. How do you eat your french fries, Escapists? :D

I usually put salt and pepper on mine or just drench them in ranch dressing! So good! :D
Three pages and I seem to be the only one that assumed you meant "French Fries" as in the brand of crisps?

OT: With salt and vinegar. Lovely!

With cheese and gravy (poutine), or if I'm at a New York fries joint, they do this delicious vegetable mix with sour cream, onions, tomatoes and cheese sauce. It is outstanding.

It depends on my mood, I'll either eat them with ketchup or salt and vinegar. Both delicious choices, I just feel like one over the other sometimes.

My preferred method is with Chili and Cheese, but I'll settle for just ketchup and a SMALL amount of salt, I can't stand when there is too much salt -.-

WITH MY BICEPS.

On another note, if I eat chips out I'll likely just add salt if they aren't salted well enough (they usually aren't) and exclusively use HP Brown Sauce, which most places don't serve in England (and absolutely no where outside the UK), or just have them straight.

If I make them myself I'll use my pestle and mortar'd chilli pepper salt mix and (as much as I love HP) would only add a sauce if it complements what I'm eating (HP really doesn't go with fish).

In Sweden we like to dip them in ICE CREAM or MILKSHAKE.

It's tastier than it sounds. Give it a try y'all! :D
Yet another reason to not trust heavily Socialist countries. :)

Ketchup is the honest and right way of doing it but since my trip to Belgium I have been know to sneak mayonnaise on the plate and secretively dunk them in that to while pretending not to do so.
No, seriously. Try that. It's a Texas thing too.

a lot of salt! Some times some plum sauce or some ketchup but usually just salt.
Alternately I really like Poutine.

I guess it really depends on the day, the fries, and what I have as to how I eat them.

I eat them many ways.

When I eat them with a steak and some salade I enjoy them with some mayo and ketchup. Sometimes even cocktail sause or I just mix the mayo and ketchup, it is almost the same. Sometime I put some gravy from the meat on the fries, not to much because I hate soggy fries (there is only one exception)

I also like to eat them with Mussels and I just put some salt on them. No sause, it doesn't work with teh Mussels.

When I go to a Friterie, baraque à frites or however it is called in English (we just call it a frituur) I like them a lot with some meat spices and some mayo or Diablo sause.

They are also very good with some roasted chicken (a whole chicken!) Just some appel mouse and some salt. I get hungry just thinking about it.

Now the best way to eat them is with Beef stew (http://www.globalgourmet.com/destinations/belgium/stew.html#axzz2WzUuyag0) Just put the fries on your plate and put the stew on top of it. Make sure you have a lot of sause. It is also a good idea to get someone without tastebuts near you so they can pull you away from the table when you start eating your plate. Trust me you will want to do that. Oh and drink a glass of good Belgian beer with it. And I mean a good beer, not some dishwater beer.

But this is all assuming you eat Belgian fries. I hate french fries, the French don't know how to make good fries. They always use the wrong kind of oil or fat. And they often use it to long and bake their fries to long. I'm soory if any Frenchmen find this offensive but I have been in France enough to know that it is true. We Belgians make the best Fries. The Duch (from Netherlands) also know how to make decent fries, but they learned that from us)

Normally salt, occasionally I enjoy some gravy. And on the best of occasions I eat fries with mashed potatoes, because nothing goes better with potatoes, than more potatoes.
