In theory, having friends is the best situation but I have to agree with you. I had some 'best bud' friends and looking back, it was one of the most depressing times in my life. I went to Uni and I only stay in contact with one friend now, and am better for it because I've now met other people who I have more in common with. There's no need trying to be friends with everyone for the sake of it.

Well, it sucks that your friends were douchebags. I myself have been very fortunate in the friends I made early on in life. In fact, I have had the same group of friends for over 18 years, and we still remain very close as a group. We live in diff cities because of school and jobs, but our hometown is always there to hang out during holidays, and each person makes an effort to go on a trip to one of the other cities twice a year. It works out great, and I feel bad for anyone that doesn't retain close relationships with their childhood buddies, but if they treat you like dirt, I wouldn't necessarily call them friends in the first place.

That it was depressing.
I think the word you're looking for is "concur [http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/concur]". (was just joshing you earlier)
I just learned how to spell a word correctly :D And knowing is half the battle G.I. JOE!

I recently hooked up with a childhood friend( from before the "friends" from my story). We had a really great time. Talking about re-enacting Command & conquer with lego and other shit we did in when we were kids.

having a social anxiety problem makes it hard to make friends and the ones that accept me for this know that they don't have to hang out or do something with me , i'm kinda use to being alone

Dude, holy crap, I used to do that with my friend, too. Never seen him again, after that one year of class we had together. Ever since, I still make a red Mammoth Tank every time I am withing reaching distance of a pile of LEGO.

Lego and games best stuff in the world!
At one time we even managed to make a working harvester! Greatest accomplishment of my life :)

I am lucky and very blessed to have the true friends that I have. I have had some poor ones that I'm glad I was able to show the door to. However, the ones that are my friends now are nothing but a blessing. I have some that I've been good friends with for over six years.

If you're wondering wether your friends are a blessing or a curse, you don't have any friends.
REAL friends are always a blessing.
Trust me, I had a time where I didn't feel like I belonged with my "friends". I stopped seeing them, all for the better.

Just get your daily dose of socialization from them, and stay out of their insanity. There will always be the few that you get closer to than anyone else, but a true friendship like that will just happen on its own.
