"Full" Nudity in Movies?

Flame on, if that's what tickles your pickle. The value of women has no use to me, and so the devaluation of women, while a plight I sympathize with, is not really that important to me. I stand with all the women who feel degraded... but, you know, off to the left a little bit.

I don't really care about naked women.

And to the person above me, I am utterly perplexed by this proposed distinction between nudity and sexuality. Furthermore, I do no view nudity negatively. I only negatively view the way society treats nudity.

You've some odd views, my friend.... I'm not even going to bother asking how you reconcile your contradictory views on this topic....

No worries about flames from me, not my style. But be aware that you'll probably garner a few based on what you've said so far....

I was going to address your confusion about sex versus nudity, but something tells me I'd just end up more confused than if I'd just let it be....

They show full nudity in the screen adaptation of 1984 but it has a good point (sex for pleasure being a great act of rebellion against the party ect.) Most film makers would use it as distatefully and pointlessly as they use violence and we would just get the Quinten Tarintino of tits.

I saw 'This movie is not yet rated' - doc about the American movie ratings board.

Was interesting to see just how wildly different the board's reactions would be to male and female nudity, and male and female pleasure in sex.

They seemed to be REALLY screwed up about sex, in the way that guys could fuck for half a movie and it'd pass, but if a woman was seen to be enjoying it, it'd get slapped down hard.

Any lesbian scenes tended to be harshly criticized too, unless it was being done for laughs.

I have no problem with it in a very general fashion, so long as there is a good enough REASON for the nudity. Most of the time though it seems that nudity is added simply for shock value/comic effect, and rarely is that necessary.

Some examples:

Good Use of Nudity:
Titanic
Silence of the Lambs
Interview With the Vampire

Poor use of Nudity:
American Pie
Friday the 13th (any)

In the case of Titanic, the nude scene helped better establish the growing romantic connection between the two leads, and sets the context for the drawing that starts off the entire story. In Silence of the Lambs the nude scene helps establish that the killer is, in fact, insane (more so than the fact that he kills people and takes their skin). Interview With the Vampire uses nudity to help demonstrate human fraility and how easily humanity is duped into co-existing with it's predators.

In American Pie, nudity is used for comic and shock value - the same could be accomplished by simply hinting at the nudity and showing the actor's reactions. Friday the 13th simply follows the adage that horror films must have boobs (though I suppose you could argue that it helps better demonstrate human frailty and whatnot but I figure the body count probably does that on it's own).
You forgot Dr. Manhattan in Watchmen...his blue penis!

To me, that was similar to the silence of the lambs argument, it's showing that Dr M has thrown off humanity and therefore has no reason to clothe himself any more, however, the wang shots did feel a little excessive, as they're so rarely seen in movies, it seemed like 'hey look at me' every time it appeared.

Additional Point: Video Games that advertise nudity or sex as a selling feature such as Mass Effect or Grand Theft Auto as well as Dating Sim games.
Actually alot of dating sims (talking about H-games really) usually have pretty good stories (looks at school days, shudders due to the "Nice Boat" ending of the anime then moves on)

I have heard lots of comments from people I know and I'm passing the question to you guys Should directors show "full" nudity from both actors and actresses.

And would you watch movies with them in it, and also you need to be 18 or older to watch it (thats the catch) but this isnt porn because this is with famous actors and actresses in good movies

Only Motion Pictures as examples. NO TV series like HBO, SHOW TIME, and so on....;...
So, I take it you haven't seen Watchmen yet...?
Well speaking of that movie....Yes I saw it and yes there was blue penis flapping around and yes it was full nudity but it was fake well just Dr. Manhattan the other nudity was real

If it's CGI I have less of a problem with it. But it's still no something I'd be interested in.

I used a nude mod for Morrowind, ages ago. I ended up losing my installation, and when I rebuilt all my mods, I never went looking for the cock mod again. Fake nudity just confuses me. I can be attracted to CGI or handrwan characters, sure, but I'm not exactly attracted to the drawing itself. To the person I imagine the image symbolizes... if that makes sense?

I guess if you want to see a giant blue wang floating around, that's your business, but I can't help but compare it to Penny Arcade's strip about Hulk Wang.
