Arron Banks, multimillionaire Brexit funder (and Russian stooge, coincidentally) launched a libel action against journalist Carole Cadwalladr, which had been dragging on now for ~2 years. Its widely acknowledged that it was an attempt to suppress public interest reporting.

But he did have numerous meetings with Russian state officials in the leadup to the Brexit referendum, and he then provided more than half the funding for the Leave.EU campaign, the source of which is still (ahem) "unknown".
He started very comfortably upper middle class. Did well academically, got involved in a modest tech start-up which he was able to sell and earn quite a few million. He then started another tech company that did bank transactions. This merged with the company that ran PayPal, the merger therefore making him a major shareholder of PayPal. PayPal effectively kicked him out from running it in favour of Peter Thiel, but he still made a fortune (>$1 billion) when PayPal was sold. Then he invested in Tesla.
So that's Musk. Made one successful tech start-up, lucked into a massive e-commerce giant, and then sold up in that and bought into the electric car industry. It's worth noting that Musk did not found Tesla, he was just an early investor who was granted the right to call himself a founder after a court case following a board dispute. Tesla, as per my previous post, is essentially floated beyond its real accomplishments on the wild dreams of investors handing it so much money it can barely fail.
So, it's hard not to look at Musk and wonder whether he's really that great: there's a ton of luck and myth-building.

Nothing really proves that these people have never smoked pot quite as hard as them talking about drugs.
As a general rule, no. Weed does not make people violent: in fact it tends to do the exact opposite. What it can do is trigger underlying/undiagnosed/untreated mental issues - schizophrenia for example - and THAT can unfortunately lead to violence in some cases. Mostly by just making the underlying illness worse. Though I think statistically it’s still more likely someone will have violence visited upon them in that scenario than the other way around.

You know, I was surprised at the reaction Jenner got, just because you're trans it means you can't be a republican? I'm sure people know republicans them, they just don't care about that stuff in the face of tax cuts or other such issues. It's not like someone just becomes trans at age 50something, Jenner was a republican while being trans presumably for years before coming out with that different look and what have you.
I think there is a sense that when someone suffers needlessly because of, say, how awful society is, they would not want others to go through that same suffering for no reason at all. Obviously, people with this sense have never spent much time around the English.
In likelihood Jenner’s money insulated them from a lot of the issues trans people go through since like most of us, the average trans person is not a multimillionaire. But it’s also true that being trans or gay or bisexual etc doesn't mean you vote Democrat. Just that it’s the majority trend among that group. But outliers are a thing.
It's the Wall Street Journal. Just look at the headlines of these three articles (hell if I'll pay for the whole things, but when the Manhattan Institute goes parroting one of them, you can figure out which way they lean); they probably think the George Floyd protests were a "violent crime surge".

Depends how direct their influence is I suppose. Most stuff with the MCU seems to go no higher than Kevin Feige for what passes for corporate approval. And Pixar so far as I can tell, beyond fulfilling a general mandate like “Make another Cars or Toy Story movie”, are very much left to their own devices. Except for when a whiff of actual LGBTI+ content makes it past the doors; then the suits panic.
