I'm of two minds regarding this Elon Musk "Am I really great?!" poll. One on hand he does truly believe the mythology around him. He does believe he's the smartest man in history and he can do no wrong and everything word he says is a blessing on our fragile lesser-born ears and we should be grateful for every warm splash of piss he gives us on our faces. And the poll 100% got out of hand, didn't give him the adulation he wanted, he's going to claim it was hacked by bots, and refuse to step down.
The other thought. This poll was 100% staged as an out for Elon. Sorry conservative trolls, I'd love to stay but democracy, so hands tied. A way to inoculate himself from responsibility and blame the inevitable fall on Twitter on the Twitter users themselves.
And Im not sure if he's stupid enough to try the former, or smart enough to pull off the later.
There's always Option C: He's a complete and utter fuckup who only knows how to take credit for other peoples' successes and is way out of his depth now.

Of course, they are personal Luddites instead of being political(anti-globalism/internationalism), economic(anti-free trade), or ideological(anti-progressive). Boring

Boooooooooooooooooooooooooo, I rather they use smart-phones vs being 1990s larpers.

People who have a deep-seated, desperate need to feel superior to others. The flimsiest pretense will do.
A most of them hide a very deep, cutting sense of inadequacy. You can see it whenever Musk talks business. He has no idea how he made his money. He's just as flabbergasted by it as anyone. Which means he doesn't know how to keep it or do it again. He's deeply, cuttingly afraid easy come, easy go.
There's a pretty good line from Rick and Morty about how horrified your friends and family would be if they knew the real you. I think that's Musk and his followers to a t. They're terrified the world will realize they're all just dummies, and Musk just happens to be a rich one.

On the contrary, if reproduction has no intrinsic value, human beings must also have no intrinsic value. If I were to say reproduction has no intrinsic value, then I would be saying you have no intrinsic value.
What an extremely odd conclusion. Zero value in art, enjoyment of life itself, kindness, love etc-- if you don't pump out kids. Anything else I might do or experience isn't worth squat, then?

And right on queue, someone came in after you to lay down the notion that people are only circumstantially valuable and there are those who should just not exist.
I mean... by writing off all value in anything else I might do so long as I don't procreate, you're essentially saying there's no value in the existence of someone without kids.

Leaving aside the immense leap of logic, how many kids do you have?

The World already knows. If they believe that, then they're even dumber than they realize. I'm not surprised in the slightest. They can all join in their own personal hell together. They did it to themselves.

Lol, ok sure, but first let's see his search history for the last month

So it looks like Musk's big takeaway from his double-tap-tap-no-erasies-snap-snap promise to 100% abide by the results of the poll if he should step down are...calling triple-erasies-no-tap-tap-double-snap-snap do over but now only people who pay for the blue check can vote in all polls by every user going forward, oh and also that whole thing about all major policies changes being put to a vote, he played an UNO reverse card, so it doesn't count.

So consider me triple-tap-tap-tap-no-snap surprised he's a liar with a very thin skin and no actual leadership abilities.

that a way of living that leads to reproduction is "better" or more "normal" than one that doesn't.
I mean, everyone reading this is the result of literally millions of years of a way of living that leads to reproduction. Don't know how anything can be more "normal" than something that describes literally every ancestor of every living person.

Not just internet porn - it creates an explicit definition of "obscenity" and uses old obscenity laws to do the heavy lifting.

By comparison, the vast majority of bees don't reproduce, and they are all descended from ones that do, though. Continuation of the species doesn't require each individual reproducing, nor is their life's function over when they do (again, other species do work that way).

So I was listening to NPR today, and something ticked me off. Why do we play dumb games with people's lives? It's one thing not to send climate-based foreign aid money to a country like Pakistan or the Bahamas to which we have already given enough money.

It's another to say no to tens of thousands of Afgan Refugees who really are just the best, and most dynamic people in Afghanistan which we evaluated from the terror regime in Kabul right now. Yet their legal status in the Us is a political football. This is insane, they are not rent-seeking, there was one guy who used to be a colonel in the Afghan military who I learned about listening to NPR and whose relatives learned English faster than I learned it at age 8. This is exactly the type of people we need in the US.

Now it's harder to defend refugees from Central America from my perspective, but they fit the definition of a refugee. They are fleeing from gangs and in some cases car bombs. I am sorry but anarchy is just as bad a dictatorship. Gangs are organized violence as well, and the idea that well they are economic refugees so we shouldn't accept them is horrific. Let's send them back to car bomb city, that's a dumb take. Also, you know what happens to people when you rescue them, they are grateful for you and want to repay you. They will join US society, and the economy, and for some I willing to be they will join the US military at high rates than the locals when we are facing personal shortages.

Also, "illegal" or undocumented immigrants are even more economically dynamic than most refugees.

But let's be real Title 42 isn't about economics or being practical. It's about Biden's fear of normie independents who love the status quo and are mildly racist and for republicans the xenophobic racists, and right-wing eco-fascists.

You missed the logic. It isn't that none of those things have value. It's that all of those things are downstream from reproduction. Art doesn't exist without people, and people don't exist without reproduction. The value of all of those things is transitively carried by reproduction, because reproduction created the humans within which that value exists.

And beyond those things, I would say that people have intrinsic value. Even a hateful, mean person who helps no one and creates nothing still has intrinsic value as a human being, thus reproduction also has intrinsic value.
Leaving aside the immense leap of logic, how many kids do you have?
None.
