I keep forgetting, is that talk show arsewipe an actual MD or is he a doctor in the sense that he just has a PhD in something?
He's an MD. He appears to have had a genuinely pretty accomplished career in cardiopulmonary surgery in the 80s and 90s, though he also flirted with nonsense like "energy healing" and "therapeutic touch".

Once again showing who the real "snowflakes" are, ICE/DHS has shot back at Olivia Rodrigo after they used one of her songs without permission. She told them "Don't ever use my songs to promote your racist, hateful propaganda." Their response, via spokesperson? "America is grateful all the time for our federal law enforcement officers who keep us safe. We suggest Ms. Rodrigo thank them for their service, not belittle their sacrifice."

Source is behind a paywall, but all the stuff I mentioned should show up before it cuts you off, and the original post/statement from Rodrigo was deleted, but there's plenty of articles about it.

This is the moment MTG really became president.
MTG seem to be playing a weird game where she's always in the opposition to whoever is in power.

In other news, JD Vance want his wife to convert to christianity...

I don't know her, odds are pretty good she's an horrible person, but I do hope she start setting an exit strategy.

Is it woke to help Americans pay for food? Pretty sure it is.

Amazing to see an administration fight to not help people pay for food. So much contempt for their citizens.

Olivia Rodrigo was once detained at an airport because she is somewhat brown and has a similar name to someone they were looking for. After scaring her for a while someone bothered to check her passport and let her go.

I honestly have no idea how he ever ended up married to someone who wasn't as white-bread as he is.
I have no idea how that filth got married in general.

I can already imagine his wife saying she wants a honeymoon to Paris or something that that, and that the freak starts foaming at the mouth and going into great detail to her about how much he hates Europe.

Weird thing is, in his Indian/Hindu wedding pictures he's seen in some sort of traditional Indian garb, complete with red dot on his forehead.

That's a level of openness towards a different culture I wouldn't see him perform now.

Because at one point he was probably a reasonable human being. But power tends to corrupt, and absolutely power tends to corrupt absolutely.

Alternatively, he was unreasonable in unrelated ways, and went for racism when it became more useful. But I think selling out i more likely, yeah.

Well, I'm sure he's the same sort of person, yes - but when he had less power, the constraints of him needing to be more decent and reasonable to the people around him will have retrained his worst impulses.

Back when Vance started out in politics, people still believed in the Republicans as the Party of Eisenhower rather than the Party of Reagan-Tea Party-Trump. Back when their new hopes for the future were the likes Paul Ryan, Kevin McCarthy, etc.? They've all fled, been driven out, or have caved in to Trumpism. When Vance started out, he too had this idea of the sober, responsible fiscal conservative Republican and his behaviour back then reflects that. He embraced Trumpism for power, and so he is now.

I suppose Vance as an oppertunist is a tempting idea and probably true to a significant extend. But its not the whole story.

His fanatic hatred of Europe for instance seems deeply ideological. When that filth first started writing articles about how Russia should get off scott free and that its Europe rather than Russia who should pay the bill for rebuilding Ukraine I entertained the idea he was just sucking up to his Europe hating boss. But as time went on it became clear Vance is even more fanatical about hating Europe and that its deeply ideological rather than knee jerk such as with Trump. Those chat leaks even made it clear Vance doesn't just hate Europe in front of cameras, but that he talks like that in private too. Even America's instinctual habbit of aiding Israel had to pause so Vance could rant about how much he hates us. Helping Israel is something he doesn't want to do if he fears Europe might benefit from it too. And considering how much American politicians adore Israel that's a downright unique stance of Vance. Because his hatred of us just runs that deep. The piece of shit.

Vance is probably such an arch Republican in his beliefs that the very idea of citizens having consumer protections, entitlement to a safety net and that they desrve some protection against corporations is deeply offensive to him, and that Europe largely having this means he views us as enemies that need to be toppled and forced under the barbaric US system, or even worse the Russian one.

In terms of foreign policy he's not just an oppertunist. He's filth. And this might stem from an extremist ideological devotion to Republican ideals which clashes with European politics, if not European civilisation.

Though it pains as someone who knew and tried warning of them way before, the sound of freedom movie seems the most broad reference for context here...Tim Ballard the kinda obvious qanon Mormon scammer was who it was about and propagandising for. But even then, when you think someone's already pretty bad, in the end it turns out they're 20 times worse than that. (Channel is ex Mormon themselves, so they provide valuable insight at times)

surely no-one (aside from his lawyer obvs) is gonna be dumb enough to try defending him this time, it was baffling enough back then: he ain't part of any "culture war", is a very fringe figure disconnected and unrepresentative of mainstream politics outside of a rapidly dwindling (wealthy) orthodox US Mormon fanbase, already disavowed by the church and co, and is just...we'll look at him, he's a sweaty babbling conman who can't get a sentence out without sounding like a cartoon caricature of a panicked liar lol - he ain't you (or is he? Tim?? Are you reading this???)

The far right party in Chile has (if I've got the translation right) funneled money from the government pension fund to pay for botnets attacking their political opponents.

It's just a bit of harmless patriotism, though, isn't it? I mean, sure, all those people putting up flags can be found saying on the internet "BRITAIN IS FULL", "TURN BACK THE BOATS", "THERE ARE TOO MANY OF THEM", "THEY'RE TRYING TO REPLACE US" but that's totally unconnected to their innocent outpourings of love for their nation.

And that nice Mr. Farage, he'd be appalled, wouldn't he? He's not a racist, see, he occasionally speaks to Asians and black people. And I'm sure he feels awful that there might be a rising tide of racism against anyone darker-than-white who are British citizens or legal immigrants working hard for a living, but surely that's nothing to do with him because he says racism is bad. He'd be absolutely mortified at the idea of becoming PM on the back of encouraging interracial violence and hatred in society.
