No because Marvel clearly learned from that story. They've not been so much with other stuff.

Also yes the front page is, designed to get attention in comic shops and on shelves. I dunno I just don't find "Come see our shockingly LGBTQQIAA2+ character" to be in any kind of good taste because if the goal is to normalise LGBTQQIAA2+ people then treating a character as being part of the LGBTQQIAA2+ as some dramatic thing almost "come see the gay, see how the gay frolics about" well it's very much not normalising. It would be like major headlines every time Frank Miller had a character hook up in one of his comics (see Batman and Black Canary)

Also again there are literally thought boxes in comics so readers can read and have read for years some characters inner thoughts lol. Also the CCA eased off in like the 70s and while not fully abolished it was approving most things from that point anyway. It's also not like there aren't characters who haven't been explored as much especially their romantic leanings but those aren't the ones generally picked.
Northstar getting married got the same headlines as Kevin Keller getting married which got the same headlines as Batman getting married.

Comics generally put out headlines when major shakeups in relationships happen, it's just that weird nerds whine way harder about the LGBT ones.

So... Marvel did a terrible storyline with incest with a little rape
Avengers #200. Jesus Christ I wanna know just how long the lines of cocaine they snorted were to make that seem like a good idea.

They didn't learn that much, since in Ultimates they put Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch in an incestuous relationship and Wasp tries to make Captain America feel like the asshole for going "Wait a second, are we sure that's healthy?". Mind you everyone was an asshole in Ultimates

In keeping with the "irrelevant bullshit" theme of the thread in recent pages, apparently a strain of progressive Marevl fans who think that the reason that Eddie and Venom don't fuck in the movies is because of censorship threats from Russia and China and not...Disney in general.

It's bizarre, Disney is more than capable of being homophobic on it's own, don't gotta blame other countries on that

I thought that's because they share a body and that Venom is, you know, a sexless symbiote who spends most of his time trolling Eddie and the world around him.

There is a bit of a difference between "Not completely accurate" and "Basically knowingly inaccurate because it's beneficial to their narrative more than the truth."
You know that the drug doesn't work right?

But hey, let's get worked up over insulting a drug.

It being a horse dewormer doesn't help or hinder the fact that (at the time of this recording) it doesn't work. If you're frightened by people getting insulted over using an unproven drug, so be it.

Here's my problem with this whole situation. Joe Rogan said Gupta lied.... after he has been shown to lie about the exact same drug. Sure CNN lied. Joe Rogans lie has lead to deaths. It's so much worse.

The actuanarrative e is Joe Rogan and his ilk dont want to face up to their lies. And using a way lesser lie to cover up their mistakes

Yes. People legit went out to buy horse medicine. This was reported on. Why is it CNN fault for buying it? They deliberately went out of their way to say that it doesnt work.

Or is the news you are talking about here OAN etc
I'm not sure that you meant to reply to me with this. It doesn't seem to line up with what you quoted.

That's more because marriage event in comics are big events a lot of the time.

It's not merely marriage events that are happening though as I said it would be the equivalent of their being a big headline every time any hero character got into a relationship with anyone.

Yeh but they managed to not add rape in that time.

Except that happens when it's a major character. Every time.

Less involved fans only hear about the LGBT ones because of the whining

I mean more bizarre it's also a Sony film not Disney. If Disney were involved at all it was only likely an advisory capacity.

Yes I know it doesn't work.

I also know "Hey look at big stupid Rogan buying animal drug like a crazy conspiracy theorist" is more effective a narrative than "Joe Rogan went to the doctors and weirdly got prescribed this drug that doesn't work so maybe there's some issue here...." when you want to portray your competition (because that's what they view Rogan as) as a moron who can't be trusted and is harmful to their audience.

Joe Rogan got prescribed the stuff from his doctor lol. So we're saying he's in the wrong because he talked about his experiences after visiting the doctors and what he was given. So the problem is despite consulting some-one who is medically trained Joe Rogan talked about his experiences on a show called "The Joe Rogan Experience" podcast?

No the LGBT ones actually get reported on far more and far more widely. Some hero getting into a new relationship that isn't LGBT doesn't really get covered much if at all.

The Batman/Catwoman wedding was picked up by USA Today, GQ, the NY Times, and the Washington Post. Newsweek covered Peter Parker and Mary Jane breaking up

Superman getting a new love interest is getting the same coverage. (Of course, since most people don't know that Superman is a different guy now, that helps with the clicks)

Because that's:

1) A Wedding
2) Batman
3) A wedding with Batman marrying a character where there's been a long running romance from very early on.

So to be clear Superman (the new Superman) snogging a random dude is getting the same level of coverage as a very popular long time comic book character finally tieing the knot after years with their long time love interest. And you're telling me you can't see a difference between those two events?

Superman getting a new love interest after 80 years of Lois Lane is news worthy, yes. Doubles as "theres a new Superman" news for most people too. Like, I didn't know Superman was going the legacy character route before weird nerds complained about him being bi, did you?

Not really. In the Red Son film his love interest is Wonder Woman (and in Injustice).

Looking up more he's dated Maxima in one reality

You don't think that having a new Superman after 80 years and that Superman having a love interest is newsworthy because non-canonical alternant reality Communist Superman written 18 years ago didn't and she's already dead in an alternant video game timeline?

What world do you live in? Like, shit man, Batman's dated Wonder Woman and had sex with Batgirl, so why report on his Catwoman wedding?

You know, what? No. This is the shit I'm talking about. Y'all weird nerds only whine about the LGBT shit and you find the flimsiest fucking things to talk about. There being a new prime continuity Superman is worth reporting on. His having a love interest is worth reporting on. You only care because it's LGBT
