I agree. So, uh, whats a furry.

Edit: Oh are these the Wolf Kids? Yeah, they piss me off. They all claim to be nonconformist and not doing it for attention, when they clearly are. I hate the fact that you have to make a complete ass of yourself in the name of fitting in.

I just generally dislike the nature of Goths and Emos, who allready took it a step to far, but claiming to be a wolf on the inside and wearing a fucking fake tail? Yeah, you won't get anything but shunning from me.

But dont take it from me, I hate nearly every social group out there. I follow my own fashion trends, and do pretty well apparently.

Edit 2: Oh crap. Haha, your talking about animal porn? Yeah, that is also messed up. Seriously, come on guys? Our generations are getting wierder and weirder.

I don't see that picture as the pure sexualization of animals. I see a girl in tame SM gear with a rather subtle expression on her face and very expressive ears.

I'll check my handy furry chart I have for these occasions.

Hmmm, looks to fall somewhere around 60% furry, so not quite dangerous yet, but close.

Worded differently than what came to my mind but I thought essentially the same.

As I see it, if it is foreign or different from the normal the most common reactions are fear or hate. Happens with almost anything. Just think of the premise of sexism, racism etc. They re different and it is easier to hate on them and make them a target then to get to know them. People love the easier option.

That is just how I see it. I have no problem with them (Furries) or anyone from different backgrounds/beliefs.

Well it is REALLY fucking weird. Some people don't take kindly to that. I, on the other hand, think it's hilarious.

See, I hate when furries are compared to the struggles faced by blacks or women in modern society. They are not even close. One can't NOT be a different race or gender. One does NOT have to parade being a furry. I've talked to be people who are furries, lollies (don't get me started on that), foot fetish, etc. It's one thing to enjoy something, it's another to define yourself by it then develop a persecution complex over it.

Two of my fraternity pledge brothers are Jewish. They don't feel the need to stand on a box and proclaim that it's not right when we make Jew jokes, or put on Schindler's List when they are coming over. Yet that's what furries do when they get made fun of.

People think all furries like all the 'bad' fetishes, including beastiality. Worst part, even furries think that. But replace any furry characters with human characters and ta da. Humans can do the bad stuff too.

I think it'd funny if a furry came out saying "Hey! Stop generalizing all furries like that! It's not right to persecute all furries just because a small vocal minority complains about furries being persecuted!"

Hm. I don't hate furries (well, I ought not to, since I semi am one...), but I can see where people do. They see only people jacking off to animal pictures or something. I myself only like certain types: if you define kemonomimi (anime people with animal ears/tails) as furry, then hell yes, I'm into that (it takes up, like, half of my images on my compy...), and anthromorphic animal girls that have very human features (I don't want to see some dog with dog parts doing another dog doggy style, and the only thing keeping them from being pure animal is, like, wearing shoes or something...). However, I don't find those internet clips of "masturbating cat!" or whatever to be hot... or even funny...

So, most people that I know who hate, or are even just disturbed by, furries just don't see the line that we ourselves draw between animals and anthromorphs. I see a very clear line between the two, but (I believe that) haters don't think we have one.

Of course, correct me if I'm wrong, that's just my view on things from the other side of the fence. *shrugs*

Oh don't get me wrong. I hate when ANYONE tries to play the victim. But there are cases from just what they believe that straight out hate is thrown at them. Sorry for comparing them to gender and race, that was a bad comparison in retrospect. But say something like Scientology was being ripped on. It is their belief and just because of that you can't hate the person. I know it is a religion but religion is a choice, so if you believe in that fair game.

Some beliefs are worse then others. If you are a Nazi, you SHOULD be ripped apart. (Figuratively, I am a pacifist.) But just having anthropomorphic cartoons and liking it or something doesn't hurt anybody. Again, there will be the rotten people in the group so they'll always stand out and people trying to play victims are right with them. But just general people with no deep seeded problems are fine.

They are confusing. What is so hot about boning in a high school mascot costume?
I'm the type of guy who needs to figure shit out, and no answer will ever be good enough to really get this. They are a conundrum. A huge WTF in the increasing pile of WTFs that is the fetish world.

I just don't get it. Have fun, but don't expect us non-furries to stop scratching our heads over the whole deal.

It's not the sexual fetish that pisses me off. It's the raging victim complex prevalent in almost every single furry I've ever spoken to. This thread is exhibit fucking A.

Here's my basic thoughts on it, in the form of someone else's comic.

so basically your point is that we deserve to be hated because we object to being hated?
Circular reasoning is circular.
I don't hate the furries who I don't know are furries. If you make a point of being a furry, and constantly say "Oh, fursecution is everywhere! We're the most discriminated against people on the internet!" THEN I hate you.

And don't use that 'Redundant adjective is redundant' thing, it makes you look like a twat. You were deliberately ignoring every other point there to over-simplify the point it makes.

That's what we call a straw man argument.

Huh. You know, up until..uh..."?" Head....showed up, I actually thought this comic was defending furries. After finishing it, I am more confident in my anti-furry position then ever.
Exactly what I went through the first time I saw it.

It's mainly because of them... People really like to generalize others and make up sterotypes because someone's different. They find one flaw, nitch, or cranny then they exploit it for everything its got and then some. Human nature right there. XP... =_=;;

Hey, let them do what they want. I have less of a problem with this than other fetishes, considering that it doesn't involve the abuse of another human being or their dignity.

It's hard to see furries as NOT playing the victim a lot. Just like here, they post for the sole purpose of saying WE ARE FURRIES WE ARE PROUD STOP HATING US. WE ARE SUCH VICTIMS HERE. The thing is, it's no secret how well received furries are received on many places on the internet. It's hardly a surprise anymore. Yet they keep throwing themselves and their fetish out in the open to be judged. Everyone judges, anyone who says they don't is a liar. If you don't know somebody, and only see them by what they post, and what they post you find discomforting, what is expected to happen? You will not like the person, seeing them only as their "fursona". So basically, knowing the consequences of what they will do, they do it then expect sympathy from everyone else. I used to know people who on the Fourth of July would light a fire cracker then hold it as long as they could before throwing it so it blew up close. When a guy messed up and in blew up TOO close and burned him, should I feel sorry for him? He knew what could happen yet he did it anyway. Don't play with fire if you don't want to get burnt. This is the internet, where the same anonymity that lets you parade your fursona lets people mock you for it.
