Not just that, the application itself is borderline useless for anyone looking for accurate translating. If the technology used for it is the same as Google Translator, then you really, really should not rely on it. It can lead to very, very nasty misinterpretations which can lead to many problems. I am majoring in Translation, and I personally find it baffling whenever I see people getting their minds blown over this. Don't believe for a second that this will ever be the same as those nifty sci-fi translator gizmos. We are decades, if not centuries away from there.mjc0961 said:Eh, I'm actually not all that impressed. It's just a text recognition program, translator, and image/video editor all rolled up together. It's worth a "That's neat", but I'm not feeling the "Holy shit that's cool" on this one.
Your not looking at it from a technological standpoint. The way that the text can replace and stay over the real text is amazing. If they can perfect that then all they need is to prefect the translating. Obviously voice will still take a while because of how hard it is to decipher but this is still amazing.Ernil Menegil said:Not just that, the application itself is borderline useless for anyone looking for accurate translating. I read somewhere that the first one comes out in 2016... for the price of a small house. Wait 20 years and then everyone will have 'em.John Funk said:Now where are my road-legal flying cars?
