yeah i saw this the other day. looks awesome.

Can it work on hand writing. or even just unusual fonts? or does it only work for like official signs that seem to all be written in arial or some other basic font

Eh, I'm actually not all that impressed. It's just a text recognition program, translator, and image/video editor all rolled up together. It's worth a "That's neat", but I'm not feeling the "Holy shit that's cool" on this one.

Not just that, the application itself is borderline useless for anyone looking for accurate translating. If the technology used for it is the same as Google Translator, then you really, really should not rely on it. It can lead to very, very nasty misinterpretations which can lead to many problems. I am majoring in Translation, and I personally find it baffling whenever I see people getting their minds blown over this. Don't believe for a second that this will ever be the same as those nifty sci-fi translator gizmos. We are decades, if not centuries away from there.

Your not looking at it from a technological standpoint. The way that the text can replace and stay over the real text is amazing. If they can perfect that then all they need is to prefect the translating. Obviously voice will still take a while because of how hard it is to decipher but this is still amazing.

Now that the technology exists to look through your phone and have the text replaced with an image of different text, how far off are we from being able to look at people through our phone and replace the clothing with naked?
