I don't really give my appreciation to companies this big (not out of sheer hatred towards them, but rather because I don't tend to care too much) but I'll have to agree with the statement "Well, they earned it". Look at their games, and then look at Steam, probably the most pleasant type of DRM in existence, and I think you'll agree on it.

It'd be funny and actually somewhat even rewarding to see when Half Life 3 will beat the sales of Modern Warfare 3. Well at least I hope I live that day...

It's DRM that actually IMPROVES a gaming experience. I really hope some other companies (looking at you EA! Ubisoft, don't think I can't see you!) realise you don't have to be arse-holes to Make money.

And don't be silly, Gabe will come out of cryogenic stasis in the year 3333, release Half-life 3 and bring world peace. We will all be long dead.

Anyway, I think in Newell's case he's earned it. Excellent service and customer relations, whilst making awesome entertainment for fortunate enough to play it. Gabe is a genius.

(I know I'm a Valve fanboy, but I have every reason to be).

Everything is worth what its purchaser will pay.

And just because they have this theoretical worth, doesn't mean the company would not sell for a lot more or a lot less.

A lot. Even with the country specific thing, well priced games and good deals are enough.
