It looks cool, but I'm a bit disappointed the actual part of the trailer I care about is 8 seconds at the end of it.

YES! YES! Now, I just need to find my CoD 4 disc, so I can re-install and kick some galactic ass!

Man i wish this was a real game. I'm not trying to put down modders, i'm just saying Lucas Arts should of been spending their time coming up with cool stuff like this instead of that dumb clone wars cartoon.
As far as I'm concerned, that new CGI series is Non-canon. It has some slightly good or interesting aspects (Like how it went more indepth with the clone troopers in some episodes) But....it mis-stepped so hard on everything else that it literally broke it's foot off. Plus, need we forget we had an infinitely more superior clone wars cartoon made some years ago?

Dear lucasarts..drop the new CG one and declare it non-canon, rerelease a HD version of this clone wars series and then make Battlefront 3. And possibly a new Jedi Knight game.
The problem is Lucas himself. The man was always more interested in marketing Star Wars toys than in doing something with the IP. His target audience is pretty much small children, as evidenced by the prequels and the CGI cartoon. Also, he despises all the books and continuity that has sprung up around Star Wars. Sure, he created the universe, but I can't help but feel that the way he percieves what he created and how everyone else percieves it is fundamentally different.

Lucas Arts will not do anything good with Star Wars. I was honestly saddened a while back when Lucas Arts stated that they are cutting down on third party development. This means no more good SW games. LA's SW games are movie/cartoon tie-ins of inferior quality. The best SW media (after the original trilogy) is almost always done by people outside Lucas Arts (a few exceptions, but the key word here is "few")...
Oh why did you have to remind me of this. The way they butchered General Grievous after his awesome debut in the Clone Wars mini-series was pretty much the final straw for me and Star Wars. The Clone Wars mini series is perhaps the last best thing to be released by George Lucas and the only great piece of Star wars tv and film since the original trilogy.

Is this another mod that STEAM doesn't allow?

Must you do all that crack the CD and modify the game's executable and mount blah blah blah ... and what not, to able to do this?

I'm ignorant about MODs unless they are simple like GOG lists.
No, in fact you can just join a server with it installed and it'll download it for you.

This trailer once again proves that the Storm Troopers body armour does bugger all. Awesome looking game and I wish I could play it.

The miniseries was done by the Cartoon Network people, most notably Genndy Tartakovsky, the guy behind Dexter's Lab and Samurai Jack. Lucas had little to do with the project aside from some character design. On the other hand, he's had a lot to do with the CGI series. You can draw your conclusions from that...

As for the CGI series, it's not THAT bad. It's just not Star Wars as we know it and love it. It's not aimed at people who were kids when the original trilogy first hit the theatres, it's aimed at their descendants. And that's what pisses people off - Lucas' refusal to do anything with the SW franchise that doesn't result in massive merchandising...

Totally lost interest in the CoD franchise, but this is a creative mod. Still, it's missing lightsabers and the Force, but it is CoD so you can only do so much with modding it...as well as being glad the ability to mod it is still even available.

I must say, I am marginally impressed.

Unfortunately I am almost certain there is no single player campaign, so not much use for me.

Boring.

Call of Duty with laser rifles, it's really just a massive aesthetic overhaul. While it's cool, it hardly warrants purchasing Call of Duty for, and people calling it "Battlefront 3" just make me lol.

Don't get me wrong, looks great. But the novelty will quickly subside once you realize you're playing the exact same game with a Star Wars face mask on.
You do know it changes perks and adds things like remote drones so it is a bit more than just aesthetic.

I don't even like Call of Duty but I have to appreciate how, well, to use a bit of an Americanism, 'sweet' this is. In fact no, I dislike that word, let's just stick with plain awesome, yeah, that'll do the trick. Of course this trailer only makes me long for a Battlefront 3 so whilst it does look very good for those who own and enjoy COD it only makes me slump my shoulders disappointed that Battlefront 3 is still, as of yet, not coming.
