The Final Fantasy characters from FF-13 have pretty stupid names: Hope, Snow, Vanille, Lightning and, Denzel Washington ... or is that Martain Lawrence?

Hope isn't all that weird, just uncommon and Snow wouldn't be so weird if it was in Japanese (Yuki). I don't think any language would ever name their kid Lightning though. That may or may not be her real name anyway

Yuki wouldn't be as weird if Yuki ... Snow ... was female. Snow aside, there are other stupid final fantasy names like Zell, Gao, Squall and, Kuja.

Master Chief is a pretty stupid name, but don't tell the fanboys or anyone with a passion for military ranks.

It's not his name though, it's his rank. Not that his actual name is all that sensible either, I think a random ODST in The Flood said it best:

Spartan-117! What the hell kind of name is that?

But he also goes by John-117, or just John.

He actually has a name, it's John Forge.

Are you saying that Snow is a guy then? (I'm not completely up to date on characters) I do admit that the other names were kinda out there (but for Terra, that was kinda the point). Cloud and Squall could be weathermen with those names.

Not so much game characters, more like locations. Especially with fantasy themed games. I mean, c'mon. Drakensang's world for example was called Aventuria. That's just silly. Oh. And don't even get me started on fantasy races.

Beat and Rhyme from TWEWY. I know Beat wasn't his real name, but it's a ***** to spell and it sounds even dumber. But Rhyme? Who names their daughter Rhyme!? I mean come on, it's a JRPG, but Rhyme? Was there really no other sutible name?

I liked their names same goes for Squall and others from Final Fantasy

Worst name is "Kent" from Initial D(he's should be in arcade games) but in the Original Japanese his name is "Kenta" couldn't they called him Ken in English instead of Kent

It's not that I don't like them, they're just a little strange.
