I just finished watching my friend beat Archam city, which I already thought wasn't as good as the first, but great none the less.

You beat clayface, who turns out was the "healthy" Joker all along. Descently clever twist, but after the battle, Batman stops the Joker from immortality by throwing a sword into a machine (long story). An explosion happened, and the Joker taunted Batman that he would still give him the cure Batman had drank half of. He than stabbed Batman in the ARM THAT WAS HOLDING THE CURE, and Batman dropped it. They exchanged two lines, and the Joker just died in the position a Joker would be on most playing cards.

Batman carries the body out from the jail, ignoring all questions, and just dumps the body on a police car. That was it.

That is how they ended the longest running Joker, Mark Hamill's masterful clown that had been playing since Batman: TAS. Could they not find some BETTER way to end him? It wasn't that they totally ran out of money for one last boss fight or more content since they HAD AN EPILOGUE.

/rage

What end's ruined the whole game for you?
Fable fucking 2 you get going throught the game you spend the whole time lvling up to beat the big baddie and ...........................you shoot him once...........yeah FUCK THAT.

OT: For me, it's Borderlands. Fucking hell, I do ALL THAT and am promised SO MUCH and I get LESS THAN SHIT as a reward? Fuck off, game.
I completely agree. My friend and I played that game every time he came over for like three weeks, we finally get to the "vault" expecting something totally awesome, and get jack shit for our effort.
All it does is imply that the "angel" is a satallite, and if you watch all the credits shows a picture of claptrap and says he's an interplanetary ninja assassin. Oh, and by the way, you don't even get to go into the vault.

looks like somebody forgot to buy the broken steel DLC :D
To me it looks like somebody actually wanted to get their money's worth out of their game without buying extra shit.

Well, BioShock had the only ending I've ever laughed out loud at, but I hated that game all round... so...
Why? I'm not saying you're wrong to have that opinion, I'm kinda curious what you found so funny.
Because it was too sappy?

I highly enjoyed playing Bully: Scholarship edition. Then the ending comes up.

It was probably just me, but not being able to kill the final boss, who was an easy boss fight in the first place, really pissed me off. I know the game was watered down for kids, but dammit I needed to do something to the bastard. He had been bothering me all game.

I have never wanted to push someone off a cliff so badly before and never get the chance to do that. Instead, all he gets is being permabanned from the school. I wanted to kill the little psycho!

GRAAAAAAAHHH!

Bioshock. The game just got worse and worse after 2/3 of the way in, and led to a super shitty ending and boss battle that just broke the feel of the entire game. And if you had harvested just ONE little sister, you got the evil ending.
This. The game was mediocre to me, the lack of any climax ruined any possibility of me enjoying the game.

The ending just left a sour note in my mouth, it was like Yatzhee said:
1. You are kindest soul on earth and children sing your name.
2. You are a dark overlord who wants to spread chaos.

When you have a main character with no personality (or face). Neither ending makes much sense.

Fuck off, Borderlands is awesome, especially with friends! You need to find some mate...
But the ending of the main game really did suck... The twist that wasn't really a twist (it's not a twist ending if you see it coming the moment they say "it can only be opened every thousand years, and the last time was 999 years and 340 days ago"). And the fact that the end reward is a glob of cash worth less than a third of what you get for selling one shitty dropped shotgun at that point in the game...

I still love me some Borderlands though...

I wished they'd made it moddable. Like, Oblivion moddable, not 'make shitty cheat weapons' moddable. It would have been so beautiful...

I wouldn't say I regretted playing RAGE however the end boss and ending were bad, I mean I was expecting awful but it was FAR worse than I could have imagined.

You fought 5 reskinned mutants hit a button, did that 2 more times then a 20 second cutscene played roll credits. The endboss was 15 mutants and 3 buttons you had to hit, there was no challenge nor an answer to be had, I didn't even know it was the ending since NOTHING here was new minus reskinned mutants. Which is the first enemy you ran into.

And ...eh I'll drop the general confusion about RAGE in here too.
It was sort of annoying to say the least. For a game that was 21GB (vs Skyrims 4.5GB and Saints Rows 11GB) you'd have expected it to be a bit longer than it was. Considering the textures were a mixed bag and there maybe being a total of 10 areas it was hard to imagine that being the bulk of the space taken up.

In the end I wouldn't recommend spending more than 10 bucks for it.

Drawn To Life: The Next Chapter.

A good, but flawed, platformer with a decent story and some neat things here and there, and then right the fuck out of nowhere suddenly this character that we know nothing about is suddenly super important and it's all his dream. All between two levels.

Fuck.

Mafia II. The ending. Wow. I don't know how to use spoiler tags, so I'll just say it was insane, you basically change completly in the last few seconds of the game, to save your own skin. I enjoyed the rest of the game, but after that, I couldn't play it. It was just so.... pointless.

half way deadly premonition, it didn't really ruin the game entirely but you spend the entire game with the survival horror/murder mystery thing going then all of a sudden the most ridiculous last bosses in the history of ever decide to show up and fuck up the entire momentum the story had going, and to top it off you find out that *spoiler* the zombie type creatures you've been gunning down left and right are people, not even permanently turned people just temporarily insane people

Hm the only one I can really think of, personally, is Catherine. I really enjoyed the first 75% of the game, but I didn't find it all came together in ANY of the endings. It all basically starts to fall to pieces after Katherine leaves Vincent, and everything after that is just one disappointingly unresolved plot point or bizarre, dumb plot twist after another.

edit: just to clarify, I actually really like Catherine and would recommend the game. The story entertained me despite the rough ending and the gameplay is RIDICULOUS fun. I just include the caveat "it falls waaay apart in the last 2 hours."

Deus Ex Human Revolution - great game, meh ending

Congratulation you've finished the game press 1-4 for desired ending monologue with samey slide show

Borderlands

No rewards, boss fight with a ridiculous amount of health and start game again to do more grinding.

Far Cry 2

Why I am I now helping the guy I was sent to kill? Why are all my buddies now trying to kill me? Why oh why did I agree to shot myself after helping the refugee? And for god's sake why did actually go through with the whole shooting myself thing even though there was no need to and the guy I promise that I would kill myself to had no way of knowing if I'd gone through it?

Rage,Think of this way. If this game was id Software's comeback tour then the ending would be the song that at the very end the stage caught on fire and the concert came to an abrupt end.

Modern Warfare 2 was infinitely stupid in how it made Makarov the main antagonist of the game but decided to SPOILERS AHOY switch the whole thing and make Shepard evil (for no conceivable reason), which I accepted until I realized the end of the game was when you killed Shepard.

WHAT. THE. HELL.

I didn't know you could just introduce a main antagonist and then slip in one that didn't make sense at all, and after the characters accomplishment over the other, roll credits and say that the main antagonist was out on lunch break until the sequel.
I liked the background of Shepard's motivations, though. Revenge against a country for the loss of his soldiers from the previous game, which pretty much makes Makarov nothing more than a plague that he released. You don't blame the fire for burning down your house; You blame the arsonist.
I get that, but wait, his revenge for losing a bunch of American soldiers was too...have America invaded and get more soldiers killed? He only says that he did it because there would be "no shortage of patriots". Wait, was there a previous shortage of patriots? I'm pretty sure the US Army is full of men just waiting to shoot foreigners, so really, what is his main reason for helping Makarov?

Mine is

Fallout 3, it was a noble ending (you fix the water system and give clean water to America) but the fact that they ask you to buy DLC to continue playing that same character you made is bullshit. This alone ruined the game for me.

I did buy the DLC not because I wanted Broken Steel but because I didn't want to start from scratch and just ignore the main quest ¬.¬

Star Ocean Till the end of Time's
You play, you get involved in the story and then, puff it was all lies since the characters were fictional characters in a videogame, so the whole time you were playing the kid playing the Star ocean heroes, that was really a let down.

Anyway, the ending for Shadow of the Colossus pissed me off. I felt totally jipped, talk about a blue-balls moment. I spent something like twelve...sixteen hours fighting monsters the size of skyscrapers, and what happens?

I helplessly watch as my character gets pwnd by some old bastard and his men before being turned into a Fucking. Baby.

I don't give a damn about your symbolism! I just killed sixteen gigantic beasts to raise my girlfriend/wife/sister from the dead! So you turn me into a BABY?!
Your character essentially made a deal with the devil, what exactly were you expecting to happen?
