We've all had our share of victories and losses while we were gaming, but there are moments that truly stand out and made you just say wow. My wow moment came from COD:MW during the mission Shock and Awe. Seeing the incredible destruction of the nuke being set off basically left me speechless and to this day remains one of my favorite moments.

So I ask you escapists, what gaming moment made you say wow?

Meeting Andrew Ryan in Bioshock.

I'm a writer myself, so to see such an amazing unexpected plot twist like that made me slightly aroused and amazed.

Oh, and of course descending into Rapture in Bioshock.

The whole fucking game is amazing.

Well, mine perplexes me. I was on the original Unreal, and had just left the surface of Na-Pali (the planet you find yourself marooned on) to go up to the Na-Pali Haven that exists among the sky. I stepped out of the lift, looked around, and I just couldn't close my mouth.

What perplexes me is that this is a game that was released in 1998, and I was playing it in 2009, and still amazed me, even though it looked ugly as hell thanks to the U1 engine.

Bioshock really turned it's self around after meeting Andrew Ryan. Before then it was boring.

Uncharted 2's entire "Train sequence." Namely, outrunning the chopper into the tunnel.

The opening scenes in Bioshock, in the bathysphere was amazing. And The Beatles: Rock Band left me stunned! Loved the graphics and the style of it.

I started playing Silent Hill 2 for the first time recently after hearing a lot of praise for it, after about 20 minutes I put down the controller and said "Wow... I really suck at this game". To be fair the dodgy combat was partly responsible but still, I haven't gone back to it, I intend to at some point soon though.

The KotOR revelation made me do it. I loved that game.
When the mask was removed my face was pretty much a ":O" for about 2 minutes.

It was so well delivered that it felt fresh each time you played through, too.

OT: The ending to HL2: Episode 2 as well. Boy was I mad.

Some of the awesome cutscenes in Bayonetta, then died because it had a quicktime event.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. Just looking out at the desert from the towers and then pulling back to the panoramic view, then realizing that I've either been there or will go there soon... The art direction in that game was magnificent.

The first time I played God of War 1. After witnessing Kratos brutalize the Hydra into submission, especially after using the ships mast to impale the fragger, caused me to put the controller away the first time. Brutal as all get out.
