Game of Thrones Author Admits Pressure to Finish Books Affect Him

If you don't want to be pressured by fans, well, don't write like 5 books and not have a ending in your series. And this isn't some Redwall or Final Fantasy shit where every book has it's own conclusion and can be taken separately or as part of a weird universe. They're pretty together, and yeah it sucks to be badgered about it, I can promise you that you would have been badgered less about it if it was finished sooner.

Yes, you would probably have been bothered about something else then, but I can't help some people are jackasses.

He seems to have a pretty public persona and he doesn't need to be one for the money any more. I assume he enjoys the interaction and I doubt he has a thin skin. If the pressure is getting to him it's probably not so much outside pressure, more that they parrot what he feels inside.

Old age is a ***** and his productivity is already in the toilet ... will be very hard to finish this thing.
