Need for Speed series.

NFS going the simulation way, or trying to be a simulation racer is like a whore trying to be a virgin.

Stay true to your roots. NFS was the best arcade racer....ever. Its presentation, gameplay, soundtrack, splitscreen multiplayer ( anyone remember that ? ) was so much FUN.

Then, we got a fresh new look at it with the Underground games, which were also great imo. But I think they have milked the underground nipple too much and are running out of ideas. So they try to be like others in order to cater to a specific market. Which is sad :(

The last NFS game I enjoyed was Most Wanted. Only thing good about Carbon were the canyon duels which I think should be brought back coupled with if you lose, you lose your car ( like in high stakes ).

The essence of NFS was " Fast cars racing through exotic locations running away from cops while listening to awesome fast tempo music ". It used to be an adrenaline rush.

RIP

Oh and Road Rash too !

I would say that the Monkey Island series is worth shedding a few tears over. Granted, the last sequel didn't carry quite the same oomph as the earlier ones, but it was still pretty awesome. Another adventure with Guybrush Threepwood, the mighty pirate, would probably kick several kinds of ass. At least if it was handled correctly. Oh, and included Murray the Demonic Talking Skull!

Myst.

Anybody who has ever played this knew it's downfall after Uru.

Goddamn, Myst 1 and 3 were the fucking best puzzle games for the PC EVER!

Legacy of Kain, those whove played defiance dont need an explination.
This. I mean come on, the ending was a giant kick in the metaphorical balls. I was quite disappointed but it seems obvious if you think about it. Raziel was awesome...
On the contrary, I thought the ending was badass. The next game should have you able to call him out to assist or do wraith-y game sequences.

Golden Sun. A series of games with such an epic story, such elaborate gameplay, and an amount of fun grinding that size simply shouldn't end
Golden sun's death would surely make me weep...
Just like the death of the 'Tales of' series.
And Chrono Trigger.
But I guess Chrono Trigger already died a long time ago, after Radical Dreamers (or Chrono Cross) was released.

Freespace. Damn good series of games, IMHO.

There were still many questions unanswered at the end of Freespace 2;
Why did the Shivans annihilate the Cappella star? Did Admiral Bosch survive? How was he expecting to find common ground with 'the Destroyers' anyway? And many, many more questions.
It's just a damn shame that there will probably never be an official sequel. Not a Volition one anyways...

Destroy All Humans. I believe I'm the only one who held out hope for number three, but it crushed my hopes thoroughly. The second was at least passable, and held hope for a better third. Sadly, twas not to be.

The Jet Set Radio games. They were fun as heck and need to be put on the Wii.

One Must Fall
FX Fighter(s?)
Commander Keen
Rollcage
Megaman X
Team Buddies
Monkey Island, or 90's LucasArts RPG's as a whole. I might not have understood everything, but I'll be damned if I didn't enjoy it.

I miss Metal Gear Solid, the last game was my first, and by far my favourite game of 2008 that I've [bold] played [/bold].
Well don't worry, Kojima said the second game would be the last, then he said the third one would be the last, you see where I'm going here? I wouldn't be surprised if we saw MGS5 some day.

What? Kojima said that MGS4 would be the last in the series, that there would be no more. Evar!!
He doesn't have as much involvment in it. Mind you, he said that about 4.

Populous. Populous the Beginning especially... (It's the second game, made in 1998)

The story pretty much ended, or rather, not really, since you could make it go on and on - it wasn't something overly unique. But the gameplay was so awesome... Hell, even a modern remake of the game with a few extra units and levels would work fine.
This!
I fucking loved that game. The only thing it was missing was a skirmish mode to pit you against the computer. Once I'd beaten the campaign, there was nothing else for me to do.

To add to the list:
Golden Sun
Donkey Kong Country (whatever happened to him anyway?)
Kid Icarus (cmon Nintendo, revive him already!)
