I think AOE had enough sequels and extra bonus über packs to consider itself thoroughly done for. I am sad that the developer went with history, but the series will always be fondly remembered because of it.
I must protest.

WoW had enough sequels/expansions and bonus uber packs to ruin it. The Sims had too many sequels/expansions/bonus uber packs.

Age of Empires had one expansion to each sequel, and it's second sequel was twice the game of it's original title (which was really good already) and therefore - like elder scrolls - was a series that still had hope attached to it that it would release good sequels - until, of course, aoe 3.
And AOE 3 ruined it, yet didn't ruin it enough to make people find any dislike for 1 and 2. That was the sign, the time to end it. If they continued, it may have become worse than the third installment.

Banjo Kazooie thanks for forgetting what made that series awesome Rare
I hate myself for selling my N64 with BK and BT. Great games.

Knights of the Old Republic. No... A MMORPG doesn't fucking count.
Totally agree, but i still maintain hope that the MMORPG might be palatable.

Breakdown. Another game designed to be a trilogy, but ended up not selling anything and just petering out. Despite being my all-time favorite video game ever.
Ah now that game was awesome. It was great to vomit in first person. I wanted a sequel to that game for a while. too bad one is never going to come.

Golden Sun is awesome. I still play it to this day. I want Golden Sun 3.

Duke Nukem. I know Duke Nukem Forever is ONE DAY coming out if it ever does, but this guy was fun as hell. I can't wait for the next installment, but it seems like he is dead now. Balls to wall game.

Splinter Cell. This game series needed more justice. Chaos Theory was awesome. Double Agent was not. I know they are making Conviction, but if it blows worse than Double Agent, then Chaos Theory is the last one I feel is good.

Golden Sun... a great RPG. It is mourned daily.
Baldur's Gate... Likewise.
Second Sight... So much potential, and died so young.
Beyond Good and Evil... Why didn't enough people buy this? WHY?!
Bomberman 64 1+2: These are the only bomberman games I've actually liked.
Banjo-Kazooie. Rare, this series is about platforming, not vehicles and building stuff.

Project Sylpheed needs a sequel, best 360 game ever made, you can't prove me wrong!
I tried the demo and bleh, definately not my cup of tea, which is a shame since the screen shots made it look like pod racing, though I doubt they handled that badly or it's a wonder little Anakin survived.
Demos for any kind of flight action games are always underwhelming, I didn't like the demo either. And that goes for hawx and Ace combat 6...
And by the way, the controls in that game are awesome, did you use the simplified controls or the regular ones?

I can't really remember, it was a good while ago, all I now is I couldn't stop banging into rocks and ended up being turned around so much it made me dizzy, or at least it would have if I had actually been in the cock pit.

All I know is that I own on that game, I'm an expert with the boosting and turning of the engine stuff, I really wish it had multiplayer.

Fun fact, of all the time I lost my shields, 95% of them were because overuse of boosters and turning of the engines.

Banjo-Kazooie.
Donkey Kong Country.
Spyro.

Also, Clover died shortly after making Okami, which is a shame.

Spyro's still alive isn't he? Or atleast Activision have tied strings to his limbs and continue to make him dance.

sorry for the double post, however, we need to address the definition of this thread, it is about good games that are not being made anymore, rather than good games that have had poor sequels

While I'm aware that lots of people are getting pretty sick of the endless stream of sequels, we all have that one series who's end we thought came too soon, at least I do, for me it's Golden sun, ending a story without a satisfying ending should be against the law.
So what games do you miss?
Just FYI, camlot and nintendo are fighting tooth and nail about making a third golden sun game for the DS.

it's not a winning battle, and the game is likely to never get made.

but dammit all, a gamer can hope

I've mentioned this before on a 'sequels you'd love to see' thread, but XIII.
Seconded to infinity. Such an awesometastic game, it even provokes you to use words like 'awesometastic'.

And it also seemed to purposefully leave room for a sequel of some sort.
