Eternal Darkness- The best game ever made for the cube.
This. This was one of the best Gamecube related purchases I ever made, and I would highly recommend it.

Anytime a GC thread is started, I always respond with one game, and one game only.

IKARUGA.

Seriously, go play it. It will make you weep.

Metroid Prime 2
Super Smash Brothers Melee
Wind Waker
Star Fox Adventures (just because)
Resident Evil 4
Animal Crossing

If I had it around, I would say more.

Super Mario Sunshine was a great game [though oddly underrated], along with Mario Kart: Double Dash. The Super Smash Brothers of that generation was also fun. And Nightfire. Oh, and Metroid Prime: Echoes.

Right now, I've got:
Metroid Prime
F-Zero GX
Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance

Any suggestions?
zelda: windwaker
Zelda collectors edition (has ocarina of time and majora's mask, as well as the first 2)
pikmen
pikmen 2 (if you can get it)
mario kart double dash
super smash bros melee

that should get you started.

Whatever you do buy Baten Kaitos: Eternal wings and the lost ocean.

One of my favourite rpg's, and one of my favourite games of all time.

You have F-zero already I see? Good choice.

No scratch that, excellent choice.

Anyways, my other favourite GC games were Wind Waker, Timesplitters 2 and Eternal Darkness.

killer7. It is crazy as all get out, but it is also one of the most unique games ever made. It is also one of the few games I would call a masterpiece. It is one of the best works of art that this medium has produced. killer7 is to games what Eraserhead is to film.
I'd recommend it, if only to try something completely unique. I didn't like it much myself, I never finished it. The art style and story were great, but I didn't like the gameplay.

But I'd certainly recommend it, because it's incredibly daring.

If you haven't played the Resident Evil remake, you haven't experienced real survival horror.
oh hell yes. played that not too long ago and it was great. only thing that annoys me is that stupid cinematic EVERY time you go through a door. even so, was a great game, very creepy and atmospheric with some cool puzzles
Yeah the door open scene is a common trope of the Resident Evil series. It's used to disguise loading scenes though, it wasn't just the developers deciding to force us to watch a door swing open every time we wanted to leave a room lol

that's fairly obvious but surely the game could load more than one room at a time so you don't have to sit through the door screen every single bloody time. it could give you a quick scene where you just walk through that door (a la Zelda/Mario) and only doing the cut scene bit when you move to a different floor or go through a door that goes from one side of a building to another. i've played Zero, 1, 2 and 3 on GC and i never thought the door loading screens was a good idea. at one point i actually thought 'i miss the word 'LOADING' that comes up in other games'

If you can find it, Phantasy Star Online Episode 1 & 2 is definitely a good game. I had my fondest memories of my gamecube due to that game. xD
A thousand times this. PSO 1+2 were amazing, and I still play them to this day on occasion. Try and get the Plus version if you can, but thats normally about 80$ online...
I still play PSO Blue Burst (Ep 1, 2 and 4 all combined) online. It lets me relive the good old days, because PSO was so different from other RPG's but once you got into it, it was damn fun! Also had amazing music. :)
On the Scthack servers I presume?

I bet it's empty nearly all the time on there now.

Can't go wrong with any of the following

Zelda:Wind Waker
Super Mario Sunshine
Paper Mario:Thousand Year Door
Smash Bros:Melee
Star Wars Rogue Squadron 2:Rogue Leader(or alternatively go for Rogue Squadron 3:Rebel Strike which includes RS2 as a bonus co-op mode)
Metroid Prime 2
Luigi's Mansion
Pikmin 1&2
Eternal Darkness:Sanity's Requiem
1080 Avalanche
Pretty much everything listed here^ I would also recommend Tales of Symphonia if you like JRPG's

Animal Crossing, if you can stand the extremely kiddish character of the franchise.

Also Wind Waker, TALES OF SYMPHONIA, TALES OF SYMPHONIA, AND TALES OF SYMPHONIA.

Oh, and did I mention Tales of Symphonia?
Not enough, so I'll mention it again. TALES OF SYMPHONIA.

Baten Kaitos was quite nice too but not as awesome a battle system and story as Symphonia

Wait, I thought it had OoT Master Quest, not Majora's Mask... did I miss something when I played it?

Real survival horror: fearing what's around the corner or in the next room because one is low on ammo and/ or health/ health items. If you cannot confront it...you will have to outmaneuver it....

Man I miss the old RE.

RE4 is the last one I played...and I loved it...but it's just not the same. Sure it can be exciting when the Ganados gang up on you...but with all the exploitable tactics (knife, kick/ suplex, ladders/ ledges, grenades, sniper rifle) you know you will be victorious.

Yeah, and no its not. There's still 200 or so people on at any given time. :)
That's crazy considering its now 11 years old.

Though people still play quake 3, and that's just as old.
