I freakin' LOVE statistics! One of the best things to come out of this generation thus far has got to be the endless quantities of utterly pointless, yet totally engrossing tallies of otherwise meaningless numbers for just about every little minute detail of the game to ogle at.

I <3 it.

As a big fan of this game, and contributor to many of these statistics, this article made me very happy.
Same here. Although I'm a bit embarrassed. And here's why: I put 127 hours into this game and this is the first time I hear about a hot air balloon! For fuck sake!

Just Cause 2 just might be the best open world game ever made. Sure it doesn't have customizations and whatnot, but it has a huge open world full of crazy stuff you can do. I can play it for hours just listening to some music and driving around blowing stuff up. Mods on PC version are great.

570,329,383 meters - The combined height of each player's highest base jump is roughly 14 times the circumference of the Earth, or the equivalent of freefalling from the moon one and a half times.
that almost sounds like it could be DLC for Just Cause 2...

That's not really a valid complaint against games like Just Cause.

OT: I've got to try that balloon thing...

Always wanted this game, it just looks so repetitive.

Though, what isn't these days.
Trust me, it gets boring fast and is a waste of money.

Yeah, I got bored after a couple of rentals. I think it had less to do with the grind of getting up to 75% completion, and more to do with the inconsistent AI. I could blow up three villages in a row and only get a single wave of jeeps sent after me, and then run over a street light half and hour later (real time) and get three Missile Helicopters sent after me. This caused the Completion Grind to become unbearable in the end, and I haven't rented it again since. At least I ended with most of the trophies unlocked.

Base jumping into Katrina? Lol! nice.

OT: I actually am surprised at how many people play this game. And happy. It is fun as hell... Drag a few people behind your car, or hook an object to your car and bowl down some baddies with it... Seriously awesome game though real world physics seem to have taken a break lol.

Maybe those Missile Copters had only just caught up with you during the streetlight incident, but they were out for blood looking for you ever since you killed their buddies in those 3 villages.

OT- These stats are pointless, but fantastic. I love em!

It must be said that only few players have killed all the colonels not only because the gameworld is huge, but also because murdering a guy who has seven loving children and has been called "the nicest man in Panau" is not exactly a good thing to do - even if he's only a virtual character in a largely plot-less videogame.

Also, i am among those who have over 50 hours of playtime. This game rocks in all sorts of ways, especially when compared to the tame tedium that is GTA IV.

The game was great fun, though it did get repetitive after a while.

I do want to pick it up just to base jump off the hot-air balloon now...

I wish more games would release statistics like this. It's more than a little interesting to see.

6,800m - The highest possible base jump in the game is not from land, but from one of the many Easter Eggs...the hot air balloon. It can be flown up to the limit of the game world for a truly record-breaking freefall. Only 160 players have accomplished this feat.
I wonder how many more people do that after reading this article? :p
I know I will. If I can just find the hot air balloon.

:U Now I gotta ask you, have you ever attached one of your allies cars to a chopper and flown up as high as you can before snapping the cable and jumping out? ...........Then getting in the car before it hits the ground?

I've done that except with another helicopter. I've also tried it with a tank.

Which chopper picks up tanks?
None of them. I found out the hard way.
