Yeah, here in Australia we get screwed despite the exchange rate. I never buy from EB - their prices are ridiculous. Even JB Hi-fi is a little steep compared to buying game online, which is what I plan to do from now on.

Bobby Kotcik (activision) - Ummm..we decided to make MW2 more expensive, just to see if you will fall for it, bitches.

Some Gamers: Please sir, can we have some more? And it is ok...don't bother with the lube.

Seriously, whether you can afford something or not, what the hell happened to being an intelligent and thoughtful consumer? Some people need to lie down in front of their door and write "Welcome" on their forehead.

All i can say is to shop around. I can find price variations of over ten quid if I just look (and buy online). When you find a place that does good prices, pass the info on. Take Borderlands on the 360 - 35 quid at Amazon, 29.95 at Zavvi.

Europeans pay about 60 euro, that is around 90 US dollars, thank god for steam and friends in the states so I spend 30% less.

Over here in the "OO ESS AYY" (USA) games are around $65 new.
Back in the days of generation seven (Playstation 2, Xbox, Gamecube), a game would never EVER pass $50.

Same thing happening in Europe. Games are getting more expensive.
In Sweden they are about the same priceclass, it usually gets cheaper if you buy them off the internet though, that's what I do.

I don't know what the inflation rate is in Australia or Europe, but the long-term average (1913-present) in the USA is about 3.43%, and so prices double about every 20 years.

Some N64 games were $70 on release. I bought Majora's Mask when it first came out for that much. It was annoying.

Inflation, it's been doing it for years. Also, the quality of the games. I remember when you could buy a PS1 game for £30 brand new and that seemed like a lot. Now £45 for a game and I think it isn't bad.
