I was going to suggest this, but you beat me to it.Stryc9 said:There's a Namco Museum game for the DS that you can pick up just about anywhere for around $15 that has Pac-Man, Galaxian, Galaga, Dig-Dug II, Xevious and several other classic arcade games on it.
I'll also go along with anyone suggesting Peggle.
I have to admit I had never heard of peggle until Yahtzee's review. It seems pretty samey to me and boring to me. Of course, my mom can play tetris for decent hunks of time, so I guess you might this "scientific fact" might have some merrit.KalosCast said:I regret showing my mom Peggle...TheYellowCellPhone said:Peggle, everyone love Peggle.
Moms love pretty much every puzzle-based casual game out there, it's a scientific fact (the best kind of fact)
My mom and dad did play a lot of Mario on the old NES. How can a mom not like a cute yoshi? Thanks for the GBA idea. While I was looking for this I discovered a line of NES classic games on the GBA. I only had a few GBA games (I was lacking in an allowance for those years). It's a nice gem to find for me and mom.Ziggy109 said:Try Yoshi's Island, maybe? My mother was a huge fan of it back when the SNES was new. The day she found out I had that same game on GBA, she played until the day was over.
I really did look into this. It would be funny, but she might get offended because she is not the bestest of cooks. I don't want a pan to the head as my present.Ultratwinkie said:Cooking mama. It has mama in the name, its perfect!Aerialfrogg said:So, back in October I bought my mom a Nintendo DS with one game: Tetris.
Now, she really likes this game (anything that she can play Tetris on), but it makes a police siren noise everytime she gets in the danger zone. Also, it's Christmas so I would like to expand her game library--as noted, her current library fits in one DS.
She likes old arcade games, see above and Pac-Man; however, I have seen her play several casual, javascript games (think Yahoo! Games, not farmville). I plan to get her Prof. Layton and the Curious Village to see if she'll branch out a bit, but I wondered if anyone had played any of the simpler, timefiller-type games on the DS that turned out to be good?
It is an DS Lite, so Gameboy Advanced Games are in as well.
Okay okay i couldn't resist.
I really can't stand the idea of paying for bejeweled. I don't know what they have done to it since I first played it on MSN like 6 or 7 years ago, but it can't be worth 15 or 20 bucks.Rusty Bucket said:If she has access to a computer, Bejewled 3 either just came out, or will be out soon. Get that, it's basically aimed at mothers.
I was thinking about giving her my Scribblenauts game, but a hand-me-down game doesn't quite count as a present. She might have more fun with it than I did. I was disappointed that not every puzzle could be solved with a Pterodactyl.mikecoulter said:All the Mario games, Legend of Zelda and Scribblenauts.
Fantastic evenings are to be had!
Ahh yes, I recommend that game too. I have that on my DS and is one of my most played games!TGBA said:Space Invaders Extreme sounds like a good game for her.
I have never played Space Invader, I must confess. I don't believe she has either. I will put it under consideration for birthday, though.mikecoulter said:Ahh yes, I recommend that game too.
