What games do you think never should have ever had a sequel, or shouldn't have one in the future?

I'm going to have to go with TWEWY. I just finished it this morning and I gotta say, it's great the way it is and a sequel would probably only stain its name.
Ahem, This has been done by me, "sequels that shouldnt have been made"

Max Payne 2 (I said that before MP2 came out, but 2 was actually good, 3 can only be crap).
why? because you say so? you say you were wrong with 2 what makes you feel so confident about 3 only being crap?

Beyond Good and Evil. Why did they have to end on a damn cliffhanger?
they are making a seqeul for that game
Actually it turns out they're not. The game was never actually officially announced and everyone assumed it was coming out because of that trailer (which was apparently some sort of test).

Don't know if I'm right about it not being announced but if I'm wrong it still got cancelled/confirmed to not be coming out.
On July 22, 2009, Laurent Detoc, CEO of Ubisoft North America, stated that they had started working on Beyond Good & Evil 2 because they didn't want to abandon the IP as it has a cache and authenticity about it, but also emphasized that although they are definitely working on the game it doesn't necessarily mean it's ever going to be released; that's something the future will decide.
It's being worked on. Whether or not it will actually be released is an entirely different matter.

Clocktower. The original on the SNES was pretty good, and the version on the PlayStation that the west first saw of the series was meant to be OK, but everything after was rather bollocks.

Ah fair enough, I was half way there I suppose.

Prototype should NEVER have a sequel. Where would it go? there's nothing to build on with it.
I'm pretty sure PARIAH is still alive.
I hate to break it to you, but

'Pariah' was the specialist, the last boss fight. How else would he have transformed into such a powerful creature. He even says 'after i've consumed you...' during his monologue.
Now I'm really confused. Was Cross Elizabeth's son? Or is he someone else?

Ugh, damn these games and their overly confusing plots.
Indeed he was. I have to admit, I was a bit surprised as well. But if you fill in the web of intrigue and watch specific parts through in order it all makes sense.
Ah, that'd be it then. I still have a lot of people to fill up the web of intrigue.

I think storywise Gears of War should have been a one and only. And also to agree with a previous poster, Prototype should have no sequel.

Final Fantasy wasn't made for a sequel, as it was actually supposed to be Square's last game.

Also, Portal. The game is brilliant, please don't ruin it with a sequel, Valve.
My thoughts are that there will not be a Portal 2. Me thinks that Hl2:eps3 or even Hl3 will incorporate the battle between Black Mesa and Aperture Science.
