On principal? No!
If they can make an enjoyable game, I can dig them.
Fanboys of every camp are obnoxious, you shouldn't let them deter you from a cool experience.

Obnoxious fanboys aren?t the reason I decided to buy a ps3 rather than a 360 (not to say there aren?t obnoxious sony fanboys out there) that decision was made by failing hardware and online fees.

The only time that you might want to avoid a game because of the fanboys is if it?s a strictly online game you need a headset for.

I don't hate them for their games, just the way they brought motion control into the world. In my opinion, motion control was dropped on it's head as soon as it came out of the womb, by mainly selling it to people who suck at games, with all those simple 'casual' games for parents with a single child (who is probably under 12 and asked/whined for them to buy it)who say that 'it's the best thing ever'. So this lead to developers using the platform for casual games for idiots, and if it was used for anything else it is shunned for being on the platform for babies. If it had been introduced to hardcore gamers first, it could have been put to better use than excercise for fatties.

I never hate any game on principle. Games are a form of entertainment, and the only thing that should contribute to your opinion of them is how entertaining they are. To be honest, I think hating a game because lots of other people like is, quite simply, childish.

I despise Bobby Kotick, I know he's been mentioned six ways to Sunday already. But my disdain for him and his greed burns like a thousand suns. (A bit over dramatic there...)

I also don't like Nintendo very much simply because they just keep trotting out the same cloying and saccharine "family friendly" games all the time.

Jeez, a lot of hate for PC gamers in this thread. Shameful.

Yeah but anyone can be good at an Fps if they play on a PC.
Depends on the game. Mouse/Keyboard is more accurate but most console FPS's use auto-aim to compensate for that. PC FPS's on harder difficulties are easily as difficult as, if not more than console FPS's.

For a reason mind you. FPSs are the thing to play these days as shown by Halo and MW. FPSs is the only genre PC gamers are REALLY good at.
*looks at puzzle games, RTS, RPG's, and some Action/Adventure games.*

OT: I'm getting fed-up with Ubisoft for their idiotic DRM and business practices of late, and the same goes for Activision.
I don't hate PC gamers. I'd be one if i had the money. I just think it's unacceptable when they act all snobby and superiour about it. (And we all know someone who's like that.)
Games are supposed to be played for fun.

Bungie/Micro$uck Games ~ For pinching off a stinking loaf of a mediocre FPS and claiming it is the best thing that ever happened to the FPS genre, granted it was probably the best thing to happen to XBox FPS gaming but that is a fairly easy feat given the crap that comes out on consoles. Halo fanboys I will lump into the same category, as they share the same limited hive mind, probably some sort of hive mind with severe brain damage. Sure Halo maybe the greatest thing to ever grace your FAILbox drive, but once again, that is as far as it's influence extends. To others it is as generic as a game can be, in fact the poster child for generic, consolised FPS.

Bitter/Jealous Console Fanboys ~ Consoles are the easy choice, not the best choice, I know you will never understand that. Or the fact that everyone uses a PC, even you, or that the TV if you want the best from a console game also factors into the price. There is nothing wrong with liking gaming to be easy. I too enjoy just popping a PS3 game in and playing it. Just sit on the couch and play on a 52 " screen is fun, I can do the exact same on a PC but that isn't the point, but easy is rarely the best. Long ago I decided I wanted the best from my gaming experience, and to be blunt, that simply cannot happen on a console. The hardware is well beyond it's expiry date, and visually they cannot keep up. The debacle with Mafia II console versions proves this. So, if you choose console only there is nothing wrong with it, but to believe it is anything but the easy choice is ridiculous. I myself will likely always be multi-platform, but PC will always be the highest priority. If there is even a hint at a PC version, I won't bother with the more expensive, less featured console version if if the PC version is a year behind.

Half-Life 2 is great, but there are a lot of great PC FPS games, try games like S.T.A.L.K.E.R., Cryostasis, Amnesia: The Dark Decent or Necrovision.
Listen to this guy, he knows what he's talking about.

Can someone tell me why I don't like Bioware? I really don't know why but after being really excited for mass effect 1 I got bored with it half way through and because of it have no interest in other Bioware games. I don't hate them but I don't understand all the praise. A few negative comments one of the heads said about jrpgs kinda made me mad but other than that I don't really know why I don't like them.

I hate the president of Activision for what he is doing to the business and artistic sides of gaming (also the fact that he's making EA look like your friendly neighborhood big game corporation) and Zynga for all the reasons that have been said before but you also have to admire their success at suckering people out of their money

Valve thanks to Steam, no need to elaborate. But I especially hate Blizzard on account of StarCraft II. I just think that either you bring out the whole game, or you don't bring it out at all.
Have you played the campaign. It is a full sized campaign not just 1/3 of it.

Sega, just Sega. They've milked the Sonic for a long time producing some failures for a couple of years, and hardly ever do anything with their other franchises. Yes, Sonic Colors and Sonic 4 are looking good, but I've grown out and lost interest of Sonic because of those failures and haven't bought a Sonic game since Sonic Advance 2, I believe.
I think Sega is doing pretty well on the arcade scene. Some of their new arcade games are really good (escpecially Border Break is awesome). It is just too bad that we rarely get to see those outside of Japan.

On topic: I hate WOW although I've never even played it, but that's the only game.

I don't hate Valve because of their fanboys. I'm wary of Steam, though.

I reserve my "hatred" for franchises or devs who do things in certain ways, though. I mean, any big company or franchise has fanboys. But it takes a real head-up-yer-arse individual to create MGS, and Kojima was his name-o. Bobby Kotick is another such jackass. I now avoid Final Fantasy more or less on principle, since the games haven't been fun or inventive for iterations now.

Treyarch, and the new Sledgehammer games. Because of a bad contract deal, they get to take whatever Infinity Ward made and continue the series created by IW. IW does amazing work producing incredible tools, and Treyarch and now Sledgehammer just takes what they made and slogs out a game without really improving or really creating new material at all. Just because they're Nazi Zombies doesn't mean that zombies in a shooter is an original idea.

The whole situation with Treyarch, IW, and Activision was like a father who had a good son, and a preferred son. The good son did everything it could to please the father, but the father kept taking whatever the good son did, and gave it all to the preferred*. Unlike companies contracting to use the Unreal engine, or Source, IW has no choice how their creation is used because of their contractual obligations. IW got a raw deal.

*No, this is not projection, this is a psychological observation.

Yet you are kinda being a little elitist by saying that and a lot of console gamers have this kinda cross on their shoulders by being thinking that every PC gamer is elitist and consider all PC gamers elitist thus being elitist themselves. So the elitism goes both ways.

PCs are cheaper than consoles I've already said this before in the last 2 days. There are a lot more costs to the consoles through TVs and peripherals and games cost 10-20euro more on consoles than PCs. That means that if you buy ten games a year over the course of 5 years(roughly what a gaming pc would last from high to recommended min specs) that is between 500-1,000 euro less on games not including Steam sales and other things like that. You also have to take out the costs of playing online for if you are comparing to xbox. So overall PCs are cheaper or atleast equal to the price of consoles.

Also On Topic on principle the only game I hate is MW2. I hate it because what IW did to the PC version with cutting back of content, overpriced mod content(Overpriced DLC), uping the price of game. Also Bobby Kotick being a money grubbing whore well at least he is kinda acting like one at the moment.

I suppose I have a rocky relationship with the Halo franchise. Halo 3 marked the beginning of my dim view of where the franchise was going. I love the good times you get from multiplayer but then I question why there is a single player campaign at all if its only gonna be a half baked story. Reach also made that abundantly clear that things were unlikely to change.

Call of Duty MW2. It's everything that's wrong with sequels. It doesn't live up to the hype, its broken, its unbalanced, the story is all over the place. Completely off the rails it went, and it wasn't even a Treyarch game. Speaking of which, every single Treyarch game ever made because they all reek of mediocrity. Hopefully, Black Ops breaks that chain.

Mario and Zelda titles. Remakes galore, nothing to show for it but fan service and nostalgia.

Final Fantasy XIII. Pacing is non existent. Gameplay is broken up into uneven story blocks, and is somehow even more linear than previous titles.

Activision/Infinity ward for Call of Duty Modern warfare 2.

They absolutely gimped the PC version compared to its predecessors. They took away aspects that PC games have had for years, just to make it as gimped down as the console versions. No mod support? WTF?

Oh and Peer to peer networking, which yes can work when coded correctly (e.g. Halo), but ooooh no, it's set to a random host selection, and usually ends up using the console with the worst connection as the host.

There's also the RRP of £55. The overpriced DLC that rehashes CoD4 maps.

Yes I'm one of those people who STILL likes to ***** about the negatives of ModWaf2. (Oh and I despise the fanbase!)

Oh I hate Square ever since they merged with Enix. They haven't been the same since.

I hate Vivendi for not letting Naughty Dog continue with the Crash Bandicoot series.

I don't hate SEGA, I just think it's rather upsetting how the whole development team seemed to get brain damage.

I hate Nintendo for being sellouts, and catering to a bubblegum market of morons who think paying £45 for a game you can find on newgrounds for free is a good idea.

I hate Valve for taking so damn long with Episode 3.

And I'M sick of all of the hoops that I have to jump through just to play Empire: Total War, smarmy and oblique offers that I don't want, game prices potentially EXCEEDING the retail price, and having to sign up with a mumbo-jumbo shareware site just to play a game that I got when installing the thing takes up so much time as is!
