I've noticed a lot of games seem to be unable to face up to the player winning something
Anybody else noticed this?

Post the game name and what it does and the situation it screwed you over in

Game play wise, for instance
I'm playing need for speed undercover, and the game is constantly using dirty techniques on the last lap of this race
Favourites include the P.I.T maneuver on the last corner, failing car steering, a tiny tiny bump that sends me halfway to the moon but all other cars are unaffected and them forgetting it is a race and suddenly braking hard when I crash into the back of them

That is known as bad AI. That's not the game hating on you for wanting to win...

I think most RTSs when your vs the CPU on hard (extreme f%^& me in the a$$!) mode were the CPU has every upgrade in a matter of seconds and a army to rival the empire to take you down.

Motorstorm fek me that game dont want you to win. race as fast as you can the ai boots up to you, if you out run it and you crash it will take like 10 seconds to get back in the race instead of the usual 3-4 i could go on but i've repressed the rest of that crappy game as best i can

In essence, yes
I'm talking about when you're winning, but all of a sudden something stupid pops up and screws you over
I thought it was a simple enough concept
You're winning, something stupid happens, hence why it appears that the game cannot face losing, because it repeats the process
EA games suffer greatly from this

Is this similar to the "Fuck You!" button most games use when they're desperate?
Yes, I'm glad people understand what I'm getting at :)
Also, Mario Kart does this too, but I'm sure every human on the planet is aware of it by this point

I think I know what you're talking about.
I play chess on my computer and I've won about 11 games out of 127 on the easiest setting :p
When I first played Tekken 5, the game didn't seem to want me to beat level 5 either.

Ok I gotcha. While I haven't played the game myself I understand that Street Fighter 4 has a boss character that has a one hit kill move that is unavoidable. I can imagine that happening right as your about the hit the guy with the finishing blow.
P.S. a thread [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/9.94567] like this has already been done before, but I'll let it slide because your new :) welcome.

Ninja Gaiden II is sort of guilty of "hating the player". It's the hardest game I have EVER played. I've had it for about a year and I'm still not finished it.

Other than that... C&C:Red Alert 2 has that thing going for it too. The AI players have a constant flow of cash and can build alot faster than the player. I found this when I was testing out a map I made with Final Alert 2. I was looking for bugs in the terrain and all of a sudden, I have the AI sending a wave of tanks at me. So I had a look at their base and it was huge. They were building Kirov airships and everything.
