Games That Deserve To Be Remade

The only game I can think of is Fallout 3, and it came out so recently that it really wouldn't make sense to remake it now. So instead, I say that in the future (10 years or so), they should make a Fallout 3 remake, with more believable character animation and graphics. I'm not talking about the landscape, that can stay how it is, I'm talking mostly about the character models. Seriously, those things look too fake to be CGI puppets let alone human beings

Star Wars: Knights of the old republic (1). HD graphics + masseffect esque speech system (Where people seem alive by moving while they talk) would make the game so awesome, that go- i mean Chuck Norris would need to change his pants.

Command and Conquer: Red Alert. And I don't want any fancy shit. No new graphics, no new mechanics, no new cutscenes. Just make it run on XP, Vista, 7, and hopefully a bit of future proofing too. Give it support for higher resolutions, and add right mouse button scrolling if it's not in there already (I was sure it was but I can't remember and I get mixed answers when I ask other players about it). I've spent about a week trying to get this to run and I've just had to give up. It's not happening on Windows 7 and the XP partition I was trying to install was being an asshole that didn't want to work so I decided to give up on that to.

So yeah. Just make it run please. That's it. If anyone accuses you of milking EA (like Sony does with their stupid PS2 collection discs; "let's take out PS2 BC and then sell people copies of games they already have but throw in TROPHIES durpaduuuuurp!"), I promise to make them show me which stores they are seeing new computers with Windows 95 or Windows 98 installed on them for sale so I can play the copy I have now, and when they can't show me any, I'll slap them upside the head Gibbs-style for you.

If any game deserves to be remade its RA2!

RA2 is indeed awesome, but it doesn't need to be remade. Unlike it's older brother, it works just fine on modern machines (I played it and Yuri's Revenge on Windows 7 easily last year), and it's still quite awesome. Nothing about RA2 needs to be remade, it's still just as great as it ever was.

I'm afraid my RA2 Yuri's Revenge doesn't work
I have Vista and I have spent like, a week of my summer vacation last year 24/7 trying to get it to work. Nothing helped.

The point is to have fun. Not every game has to be unique.

No, but don't complain when only one happens. If you can enjoy a game and it isn't unique is it a bad game?

I would like Arcanum to be remade as Fallout 3... let's say New Vegas/Skyrim... and hope for more thoughts about the multiplayer part. Only problem I have with Bethesda going for it would be lack of cooperative as they don't seems to understand what use it has [hint: replayability...]

Someone suggested Minecraft, I suppose so... and since some non-game can be added (see definition of GAME)... I'd go for Second life that isn't aging well at all. Community are doing great job, but Lindens aren't keeping up.

Other than that I'd say every game that has made promise they didn't hold onto, Dungeon Keepers (don't talk of Dungeons...) and Vampire the Mascarade Bloodlines.

-do not touch the story line

-make a practical game engine for all of the games i.e soul reaver mechanic>defiance mechanic

OT: I'd just like a system that can play all the old N64 games I have with controllers that are actually worth a crap. The controllers that we have have terrible joysticks that barely work anymore (thanks Mario Party).

Yes the servers may be gone, but that only removes multiplayer (which doesnt affect the demo at all).

I don't recommend anyone to buy the game, since the multiplayer was the only thing that was really fun....

I downloaded the trial for Marathon: Durandal on XBL... oh, god, that was the absolute worst level design I have ever seen in a game. Not only boring level design, but I was constantly trying to figure out where I was supposed to go next. I don't think I ever managed to finish the level.

No, it would feel horribly restrictive. You'd be stuck on 2D gameplay in a 3D world. That's bad. Especially since real 3D Zelda games have always had 3D gameplay. It would feel like a step back.
