Have you played any games that just got so hard they weren't fun to play anymore? JAK 2 comes to mind, I played it when I was still pretty new to gaming and that might be the reason I found it ridiculously hard.

In Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands, I died about twice as a result of being killed by enemies. I died dozens of times because of bad controls, and nearly gave up on the game. The final boss fight is worth it, but the journey is long and frustrating.

It should explain itself quite easily... Yeah.
Games are hard these days only when the designer uses "fucking hard" as a design feature.

For some reason I just could not beat the Suffering: Ties That Bind. I got up to the boss and I couldn't beat him, which was a new experience for me. I haven't tried it in years, so I don't know if I could beat it today.

Ninja Gaiden on the orignal xbox. I struggled with the first boss on the normal difficulty. I was younger though.

Demons Souls.

Edit: Though really, it'd be more correct to say that it started out too hard and got worse from there.

Heavenly Sword. The final boss is far harder than the rest of the game.

Prinny: Can I Really be the Hero? was a pretty damn hard game, it was like IWBTG for the PSP...hell I think I even heard a rumor about Nippon Ichi using IWBTG as inspiration for the game. It really shows, especially the DLC level 'Asagi Comes Home', that level will eat you alive from beginning to end.

I Wanna Ge The Guy is one of the hardest games I've seen, but after playing it, I didn't find it as challenging as everyone else has. I beat it on Very Hard, and eventually beat it on Impossible.
Another pain in the ass game is Silver Surfer for the NES. The main problem is that if you touch ANYTHING, you automatically die, with no checkpoints. Even if you beat a boss, then die, you have to beat him again.

Conan on the PS3.
I was coasting along brilliantly up until I got to some bastard hard octopus thing the required you to jump, roll, turn around and light a fart simultaneously.

I usually fuck a game off the moment it goes from challenge to really not fun anymore!

Tales of Vesperia had this a few times where you're cruising along, then the boss comes and beats the ever loving shit out of you.

I never Finished Cod4 because the 2nd last level was such a pain, on the hardest difficulty.

Resident Evil: Zero Hour. Quickest, and one of the few times I outright gave up on a game. Ruined RE for me till 5. (Zero was my first RE game, so I assumed they were all similar)

The RE games share the same problem as all the Metal Gear games except 4 for me. There is no reason that my feet should become glued to the ground whenever I raise my weapon to aim/fire. This infuriates me far more than it should.

I finished it, but it was tough.

For me, the original Fallout. I've all but given up on it because I'm unable to finish the last part, not through lack of skill but because I'm not a high enough level, and lacking the gear. However, good equiment is extremely rare, I can't pick up laser rifles for some reason, and there's not enough content in the game for me to level up sufficiently.

Thats not where my hate stems. Infact I think you could move and shoot in Zero, but you couldnt kill...not without fire. Any downed enemy you didnt torch came back...and quick. I got used to the stand and shoot style...but Id like to move too, but still enjoy 5.
