Well, maybe I should have elaborated on medievil a little more. The humor, characters, and setting are fine. In fact, it is those features that make me still look back on the game fondly. The gameplay is ok but I don't feel like it is as good as when I first played. The graphics? Pretty ugly. Though I do still like the monster the wizard turns into at the end. Hogs of war? I don't think I've heard of that one. I'll have to try it out.
I bought Tekken 5 recently (branching out from my usual Soulcalibur), and it comes with Tekken 1-3 on the disc. Well, 1 and 2 have aged terribly, especially in comparison with 5, and now 6.
Generally I find graphical differences easier to ignore than gameplay/mechanical ones. As such, and though it's been a while since I've played either of them, I imagine that the first two Grand Theft Auto games would be very difficult to play nowdays.

Fair enough, it does look pretty ropey these days. Hogs Of War is brilliant, but I have a feeling that I have my nostalgia goggles on whenever I play it so your mileage may vary.Nocturnal Gentleman said:
Basically it was Worms 3D but before Worms 3D existed, and was much better. It's turn based, multiplayer combat with WW1 era pigs. But it's bloody hilarious as Rick Mayall does the commentary and most of the voices.

Huh? Really? Beacuse I would argue that Half-Life 2 is a game that has aged very well. I recently replayed it and it almost feels like a modern title. I guess it is the almost life-like expressions on people's faces that prevents it from seeming too outdated. The Source engine in general was preety advanced for it's time.Legion IV said:

There's some AMAZING concepts buried in that game for when it came out, but the combat is silly (it's not really there, it's click-and-pray with no real concept of what's actually occurring) and that extreme pixel-art 45 degree iso-view it's got is very hard on the eyes...
...but man, the memories of it have aged VERY well. A almost two decades later and I wonder why I haven't really seen a world that incredibly interactive since...

I think if I had to pick something, I'd say Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Chaos Bleeds. It's like a throw back to when games were really not very good. I like the first Buffy game though.
Also, I could always make a big list of the PS1 games I've been replaying lately, but that woould be redundant, as they are over ten years old, and a lot of them were just meaningless pulp even then (not that they aren't still immensely fun, just that they show their age.)
That's a big thing I think may be flawed with your question. You seem to be implying that when a game ages badly, it becomes less good, but I still enjoy a lot of old games, even though I can see every bad old thing they do, and why modern games do it differently. I played Buzz Lightyear to the Rescue the other day, and I enjoyed it so much, despite bad graphics, dodgy camera angles, moronic puzzles and annoying enemies. It's aged badly, that doesn't mean it isn't fun anymore.

It is a bit finicky, but keep in mind it was made for the 64. I set the sensitivity down all the way and its a lot better. Mind you its probably safer just to keep auto aim on. Give it another go on Single Player, the campaigns are pretty fun. Not many FPS' these days do as good a job at FPS single player as RARE did. (or at least the concept and how the approach objectives and level design).Onyx Oblivion said:

To someone who plays FPS on anything modern... pretty much every first-person shooter on N64. Goldeneye and Rainbow Six are great fun, but using a joystick to aim and direction buttons to walk around is painful. I'm glad we have the dual-joystick system for FPS now.
Most N64 games but Mario kart 64 stands out. Still a great game but the graphics are not as good as I remember.
Graphically: Call of Duty4: Modern Warfare (2007/2008 EU). The gameplay is still awesome and finding a server to call home is great. But damn, in terms of eye candy compared to recent games, it can look bad even on high settings. I swear CoD: United Offensive (circa Sept14, 2004) has higher resolution textures on maximum.

But even 2 years after, I've never gone back to it. One play through was enough to have a feel for its greatness, as subsequent play throughs only serve to outline its short comings. The crossbow was pretty damn awesome though, the only really enjoyable weapon to use in that game.

Explain, please! Episode 2 is as recent as 2007, still looks and plays fantastically. HL2 still looks good by today's standards, even though it was released in 2004!
I have to agree with Halo. I was so distracted by the horrible character models that I couldn't really enjoy it. Deus Ex I still really enjoy, but the graphics do look pretty terrible. If any game needs a modern facelift, it's that one.
