Games that really didn't need a sequel

So what games do you guys think really didnt need a sequel?
For me it would have to be FFX because X-2 was absolutely terrible. Also I know alot of people will disagree with me on this one but Portal really didn't need a sequel. For me Portal 2 just seemed like a bit of a cash in with sub par puzzles which hardly made use of many of the new mechanics. Portal had very good closure I think (well until that updated ending) and I really dont think a sequel was needed.

Call of Duty? I mean...that was too easy....

Seriously, I didn't think Uncharted needed a sequel. I enjoyed the sequel, but when I beat the first one, I didn't go "Man! I can't wait for the sequel!" I am glad it is here now, though.

How did Portal ever have closure? The ending song is all about how the big bad you thought you just killed is still alive; seems like a sequel hook to me.

For me, every GTA game past Vice City: they broke the mold on that one and they should have stopped while they were ahead.

Final Fantasy... take your pick. Stop making Final Fantasy games.

Portal didn't require a sequel, but it worked out quite well so I don't hold it against Valve.

Bioshock didn't require a sequel and it was... kind of horrible in its own way...

Super Mario Bros.

Not sure what they were thinking making all of those sequels.

Super Mario Bros? It should have begun and ended with JumpMan, if you ask me.

This is propably going to sound nitpicky, but FF games aren't really sequels, they just share a name. Except for X-2, that thing never needed to happen.

I'm a total fanboy on this, but the Myst saga should have ended with Riven. Exile was just a gimmick, as was everything after.

I dunno, the Portal ending was just so damn perfect, additions didn't seem needed.

But hey, I haven't played Portal 2, and all I've heard about it is absolute acclaim.
Sometimes I wonder if the industry's predilection for cliffhanger endings isn't driven by an urge to avoid confusion when the inevitable sequels appear. Just because one story ends doesn't mean there's nothing more that can be said about the characters.

I personally came off of Portal wondering what they would do in the next game.

Since I'm posting again anyway I'll throw some support at the guy who mentioned Bioshock 2. That game didn't need to exist, fun as it briefly was.

Games that didn't need a sequel? All I think of are games that did have sequels but didn't suit me.

Dragon Age 2, FFX-2, Metal Gear Acid 2 and every COD game that Treyarch made.

To any otaku, another Melty Blood game that has more characters..
XD Agreed! Hell, they're pulling characters from other Type-moon series now >_<

Another one I think I should mention, now that I'm on fighting games... Guilty Gear did not need GG2. Haven't played it, but haven't heard anything good about it either.

Now, for games I do own, I'd have to say Resistance: Fall of Man (don't get me wrong, Resistance 2 is awesome... just, well, has a bit of halo aftertaste if you know what I mean), and Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain.

Yes, I mentioned LoK, the games I seem to worship.

Why? Because, even though they did manage to make the plot work (thanks to time travel...), Legacy of Kain got shuffled through (if i recall correctly) 3 different studios, and then got dropped on a cliff-hanger with Defiance.
