For me it would probably be Super MArio 64, because it was one of the games to get me into video games in general, after that, the original Final Fantasy remake for the GBA, because that got me into RPGs, and now Street Fighter IV, because now I'm really starting to get into fighting games.

Oh, KotOR (I and II), Mass Effect, Bioshock, Portal, Half-Life, Oblivion, and a few others. Each one just made me want more and more from a game. Especially Bioshock, it shattered everything I though a shooter could be.

Pokemon and Kingdom Hearts.

Seems really odd, as they have kids appeal. However, I like the mix between kid and adult friendly. Not only that, but one thing I love in games is levity. While playing a serious drama is fun, its nice to kick back to games that arent too heavy.

I would also like to point out that Pokemon matured me as an individual; as I grew up playing the Pokemon games, which were responsible for my advanced reading abilities as a child. "Games rot your mind?" For some people.

An important point to remember in games, for me, is FUN. This is where the disconnect between me and BioWare players comes in: I accept that Dragon Age and Mass Effect have nice stories. I just hate the dialogue (the excess of it too) and the gameplay. I can sit through games that have bad stories (I had fun with ODST, if only for Firefight, for example). I can sit through bad looking games (to a degree). I cannot sit through a game with no fun.

Well, Kingdom Hearts got me into RPGs. KOTOR 2 opened up the more westernized RPGs though... although I forget why I skipped KOTOR 1. Oh, and Altered Beast is where I started gaming, while Pokemon Yellow is the first game that I REALLY got into.

Lost Odyssey actually helped shape me as a person though. The moral in that game struck me hard for some reason.

Doom 3 got me into horror-based games.
And before you say anything, Yes, I practically was living under a rock for quite a while at the time.
