System Shock 2. Because that cliffhanger ending is the worst and Irrational needs to go back to its roots.

Chrono Trigger. Because Chrono Cross was a lousy excuse for a "sequel" with an embarrassingly bad battle system and lame characters.

Gah! Ninja'd not once, not twice but three times by this here gentleman! I'd give you a cookie, but it would be uneconomical to develop a matter-transfer device to beam it to your desk, so I'll hold on to it for now... or just eat it.
Jade Empire especially; it was a fun game with a great story, pretty good, unusual combat system and characters; it was just too darn short! And glitched to completely broken after a few playthroughs (or maybe my disk just died massively for some reason).

OT: A sequel to KOTOR2, not a spin-off MMO. I would have said done by Bioware, but now that the EA marketing department seem to have their claws in them so deeply, I fear that half the game would be reserved for people who bought the life-size Darth Vader statue that goes "Noooooo!" whenever you walk past, now only $1,000!!! (I'm referring to Mass Effect 3 for those curious, and its heinous DLC). To be honest, I wouldn't mind if Obsidian did it, so long as they were actually given at least to the original stated deadline and didn't have to cut something like a third of the content.

Age of Empires 3; again not an online game. A proper AoE4, please, Microsoft?

Company of Heroes 2, although that may not come, if the rumours about THQ are to be believed.

Cubivore, what with minecraft spiking in popularity because of it's "charm" I think it would be a GREAT time for nintendo to make a sequal for it's masterpiece "survival of the fittest" cube based cannibalism simulator

Did I mention it's also somewhat rare and REALLY REALLY FUN!?!?

All three of these titles (series in the case of Battlefront) are excellent games and (imo) should have gotten a sequel.
I can't rememeber where.... But I DO rememeber seeing an artical about star wars battlefront III coming out some time this year, Couldn't rememeber where though. -_-

I agree with a bunch of games already mentioned:

Homeworld 3
Battlefront 3
Starlancer 2 (fuckin' Freelancer doesn't count)
Brutal legend
Mirror's Edge
And others.

But I would add to this the brilliant yet overlooked Singularity. This game got killed by Activision before it was even put on the shelves. In fact, a lot of games from Raven Software seem to suffer that fate.

Freedom Force! - Need more El Diablo, Man-O-War and of course Minuteman!

Evil Genius - Dr. Evil meets dungeon keeper, what's not to like?

Vampire The Masquerade: Boodlines - One of the best RPG's I've ever played.

Republic: The Revolution - Infuriating bugs and graphics aside, a gloriously different kind of game.

And my number one choice?

Gangsters: Organised Crime. That game made my freaking adolescence. Gangsters 2 was awful but I always hoped they'd come back to the franchise.

Tribes: Vengeance

A real sequel to the story, specifically.
It would make a great launching point for the online MMO that's in the works, since it would give the players some knowledge about the factions in the Starsiege universe if nothing else.

Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines.

Alongside a remastered version, a complete, non-rushed sequel would have great potential and could even be superior to the original.
The studio that made that broke up :( I played it again recently and I don't usually replay games.
The whitewolf vampire rights were bought by CCP the EveOnline guys that are making an MMO with it. It may never arrive as they spread their dev teams over eve, the fps spin off Dust and this new mmo.

Yeah, I realise that. Troika are long gone. I don't think an MMO is comparable to a single-player sequel, though.

I would prefer to see a stand alone game aswell rather than the usually dungeon grinding MMO.

Oh boy, Sega, I will personally take out a loan and buy 1,000 copies if you buy this game... Ok, once I have the money to do that.

Also, this needs one badly.
And of course, this game as well.

[small]I just really like this picture of Raz, the fan club doesn't need a sequel.[/small]

Freespace 2 - Seriously, that series ended on confusion, why did the Shivans blow up the star, what happened to earth and all that?
If there was any game that could bring back the space shooter it'd be Freespace 3

Arcanum - Steam punk + magic, this game deserved to have it's own series like Fallout, I would love to see something like Skyrim, but with a Victorian Aesthetic.

Mechwarrior 4 - Dammit, I want Battletech back. Curse you intellectual property law
And no, I don't want an MMO, I want a single player campaign with hammy acting!

I'd like to see a Darkest of Days sequel. The story is supposed to continue anyway. Sure the game was pretty awful, but I think it had so much potential. I enjoyed it despite its flaws.

The new Splatterhouse. and it likely never will.

I know that alot of people don't really care about this game but i really enjoyed it. I thought it was fun and hearing the voice of darkwing duck drop F-Bombs and talk about vaginas was satisfying in ways i can't describe.

The main reason it didn't do so well is that for some reason Namco killed funding and advertising for the game when it was about 90% complete. Thats why the game feels buggy and unfinished, because it wasn't. They even were planning on releasing a DLC expansion that deals with the cliff hanger ending and sets the game up for a sequal but that too was killed as was likely the plans to ever make another one.

Its one thing if a game just sucks but Splatterhouse had alot of potential but was shot in the leg before it was ever released and then kicked out into the world and left to die.

Its sad because alot of love went into making the game (you can find the whole sad story here http://splatterhouse.kontek.net/new.html ) and even if the series see's the light of day again it wont be the same creature.

I really enjoyed your little speech.

I bought the game myself about a year ago, when I saw it on a bargain bin. I bought because I remember liking the old arcade games, and I got it more for nostalgia sake than genuine interest in playing the game, so it's been relegated to the midst of my "I'll play later... eventualy" shelf... but you got me curious. If someome can be so passionate and make a well articulate defence of the game, I think it warrants a chance. I've been looking for a new single player game to get into anyway.

You have my thanks.

THIS!
However, it will never, ever, ever happen.
I would also like to see Van Buren rather than stupid Fallout 3, I love Fallout 3 but it doesn't seem like Fallout, you know?
Why do you think that? Current market wouldn't enjoy it?
I really doubt the current market would. The game is also ten years old this month, and I believe ( don't go quoting me on this) that the developer was disbanded and split up in '04.
