I enjoyed Darksiders, it had an interesting unique plot (for me) and I enjoy a good hack and slash every now and again
-Asassins Creed: Brotherhood/Revelations (One Ubisoft Dev: Okay...so let me get this straight...people have to play as Ezio...two more times...even though he is a boring and one-note character that has basically had his entire backstory summed up in the second AC...seriously?...we...we couldn't like...ya know...visit some OTHER ancestor...cause...there's like hundreds of years...and ancestors we could totally visit...no?...well...maybe people will enjoy playing as the same guy who is less cool then Altair for 3 games straight?)
Personally, I think Mario Galaxy 2 is the best platformer ever made as well as the best Wii game (granted, it doesn't have nearly the competition as a PS3 or XBox game, but). It was a gamer's game, not dumbed down the way a lot of recent titles have been. It was engaging and challenging, and the amount of variety was astounding. The game was like a playground or toy store or a laboratory. Each level seemed centered around the same approach that I take to music - what haven't we done in this game yet? What haven't we done with Mario at all yet? What hasn't anyone done yet? Most of the boss battles were a bit too easy but I enjoyed every bit of this game. It was thrilling. Also, the music was bad ass.
Oh yeah, and I really regret that I didn't have any __ available when I bought the game, as it's full of what my roommate and I refer to as "Oh my god" moments.
So, what didn't you like about it? How was it, in your opinion, a piece of money wasting shit?
Superman 64. Its name alone is enough to incite panic in even the most hardened gamers' hearts.
I would say "ET: The Extraterrestrial" but in the grand scheme of things, it is your standard movie tie-in game. Very short development cycle, having to be released within the time frame of the movie and generally shit? Yeah, it's a movie tie-in game all right.

Not gonna say that those games aren't for everyone, but I personally found that some of the ideas/implementations of content was just straight horrible in most cases. I.E. Darksiders having a very clunky platformer element, or Assassins Creed sticking with a single character when there is prolly TONS of other characters/time periods/locations that would've been fun to visit.
Heck, Darksiders could've done better with more focus to combat and some more elaborate moves. Assassins Creed could've even been in a Southern Trailerpark with a character named Jim'Bob Mc'gee who lives in a swamp and assassinates crocodiles, just ANYTHING that'd make the characters/world seem less like a re-hash of the previous. Anywho, I'll stop ranting and let ya get back to enjoying your day. XD
E.T., and not even the newer Sonic games can be classified as a bad game. On that note Sonic fell from grace about the moment everything went 3D but the modern games still have entertainment value. They may not be the best games out there but if rummaging through a bargain bin and you find a Sonic game and have a weekend to kill you could do a lot worse.
You know what? Here's one, and I'll be bashing on old man nostalgia here: every single sonic game ever. You know why? Sonic is why. All the other characters in sonic games: fine, cool, great. If a character was made today in a video game that's personality was based off of market research, the entire game would be slammed and we would say it shouldn't have been made. Considering that's what sonic's character was back in the 90s, same rules.
wow. this is just one big hate factory of a thread, isn't it? i didn't bother reading past the first three posts after seeing 3 awesome games (super mario galaxy, diablo, and COD) being hated on (though i'm not sure how diablo is a "cash cow" game. my wifes been playing it for YEARS and hasn't paid a dime over the price of this disc?).
anyway, this thread should be locked. i highly doubt theres any real discussion to be had here, other than people dissing games and others defending them. why not start up a ps3 vs 360 vs wii thread while you're at it?
see the zero punctuation review, his complaints for that are what it took for me to relize what a bloated 'relase the same game but with a different name' company nintendo is if any one dissagrees then fuck you!!!!
there may have been a few good nintendo games but this was not one of them

Here is an idea, you see that little button in the corner of the post you are referring to? You know the one that says "QUOTE" maybe you should use it so people actually know who you are talking to and what you are responding to.
...seriously, I could deal with every other bad game I have ever played if this crispy piece of deep fried fecal matter had never been green lit...and fans of the series had gotten the real third part...
Huh, I actually liked Nuts & Bolts. They strayed from their platforming roots and gave us richly detailed enviroments and vehicle parts to build with. True the races are annoying at times but many of the challanges could be so differant you would need a new vehicle for the job. Besides, a lot of fun could be derived from building and testing your crazy vehicles once you collect all the parts.
