Games that you never liked even though everyone thinks they are great

Ya know, the only game I actually didn't like that a lot of people do is Gears of War. Personally in my honest opinion third person shooter games shouldn't exist. Third person is "ok" in Star wars battlefront, but I still hate the hell out of it. GoW just made me realise it, played it for 15 minutes and sold it on ebay.

Gears of War. I dunno, it just felt unpolished to me.

GTA IV. There are many series that could benefit from realism. GTA is not one of them. Give us a realistic and physics if you want, but it really bites into the fun of a rampage when it is impossible to speed around a corner at 50 miles an hour, because it isn't "realistic enough."

Oblivion, easially. A mate of mine told me it was the best game he'd ever played and I still havn't forgiven him for it. I was so glad when Yahtzee shat all over it. Basically, he describes exactly why I hate it. That, and it ran so, so slow on my computer.

I'm afraid to say that I seem to have the same idealogies and interests as the common masses. There aren't many game-related interests in which I differ greatly from what is the stereotypical norm. Atleast for a hardcore gamer. As in I hate all the JRPGs that are supposedly 'good'.

Basically everything except HL2, Portal, and Zelda. Everything else I either don't like, or isn't popular. Stupid perfectionism.

Try playing on that computer without using fast travel. When me and my friend first played it we didn't know that it was possible to fast travel. That sucks on a computer that can barely run it.

For me Baldur's Gate was the worst RPG that I've ever played. Yet everyone else who ever played it seemed to have a wonderful time. I suspect a similar thing will happen with Fallout 3.

For me, the Halo series. Part of that is not owning a XBOX, but when I played it on other people's consoles, I never really got into it. I never tried the single player, and the multiplayer seemed lackluster, especially when compared to shooters such as Red Faction (the first one, not the second one) or Call of Duty. I wouldn't say I hate it, I just don't see why it gets so much praise. Metal Gear Solid is another, and frankly after Yahtzee's review of MGS4, I'm not about to give it a whirl. Possibly GTAIV as well, but mostly because of the stupid socialization element more than anything else. I much prefer 3 and Vice City. Finally, Starcraft. Part of that is invariably due to the fact that I suck at it, but that notwithstanding, I still prefer C&C, Homeworld, SupCom, and well, really any other RTS to this one.

No offense, but that's lack of skill. I've take corners doing very high speed just fine.

Realism also takes a hit when a skinny tree sends Niko flying 100ft out of the windsheild after ramming it going roughly 120km/h

Gears of War, online play specificly. And the entire fighting game genre. I prefer trigger mashing and menu scrolling over button mashing a single opponent. I dont understand the thrill.

I've never been an FPS fan, save for Goldeneye and Bioshock, so basically any popular FPS you'd care to name except those two.

I also fail to understand the fun in games like Gran Turismo - that is, driving games that involve a lot of micro-managing of stuff I don't understand because I don't (a) have an NVQ in vehicle mechanics or (b) even drive anything more technical than a pushbike in real life. Give me Mario Kart, Micro Machines V3 or Burnout 3 and I'm quite happy, but I can't be dealing with differentials, clutches and gear ratios.
