MW2, Intervention, at close range. - if you enjoy this, you must die... painfully =)
As for me, i love the rifles in Fallout:NV, so much so that i ignore all other weapons.

Borderlands. Lots of rifles to pick from and blood spraying goodness as rewards. Plus the mad loot is always a great bonus. (And pity the bandit who thinks his shield will save him)

Far Cry 2 actually impressed me as far as sniping goes. There's just something satisfying about finding an excellent sniping spot above an enemy base then tearing into their forces before they can return fire.

The better you are at it, the better it feels.

Operation Flashpoint, Arma, Arma2.

Stuff like that.

Very satisfying to put a bullet through a high value target at long range, after perfectly judging the drop, and even the windage, and enjoy the fact that his comrades are having a long, difficult game of trying to guess where the hell it came from.
Another person that values realism in a game, excellent. I enjoy actually having to do the math before taking the shot, and utilizing a spotter just adds to the enjoyment.

"Two targets near the gas station, 600 metres, wind... null, send it!"

Good Times...

BF:Bad Company 2. The bullet drop, the ping as you get a headshot. Some skill required instead of usual line crosshair over head, fire.

Some of the most fun I've had on Xbox this year was to stay a mile behind everyone else and shoot defenders. And have competitions between friends online at the time to who could get a headshot at the longest range.

Practically any game with sniping has fun sniping I guess.
Theres just degrees of how well its done.
I'm beginning to notice a decrease in people playing the Recon class, at least in BFBC2. Most people play medic now, actually.

In BFBC1 I could swear I was the only spec ops, but I was a master at stealth in that game for no god-damned reason.

What was I supposed to talk about? Oh, right, sniping. I pretty much like sniping in all games, except in halo. It just never feels... right.

Ever been in a sniper fight on Bad Company 2?

That is unparalleled fun. Especially on Arica Harbor. Ducking between buildines and hills, trading sniper shots, trying to catch your opponent when he makes a mistake. Having to account for distance. It's just, sheer joy.
I was recently in a long and drawn out sniper fight on BC2. I was on the map Heavy Metal (one of the new ones) and i was halfway up one of the mountains. The other guy was behind a log a fair way away, right next to his last base, and we were trading sniper shots for a good 15 minutes. He relocated to the mountain opposite the canyon and we resumed. Eventually people at the base of my mountain started taking pot shots at me, and I paused to deal with them, only to recieve a headshot from my adversary who would've had to aim (and I know this because a couple of mine landed right next to his head) about 4 and a half to 5 notches above my head. Even though I died, it had to be one of my greatest gaming experiences.

OT: I have to agree that BFBC2 is probably my favourite game to use a sniper rifle on. Most of the other games have too little range for it to be well-done. However, there are a few maps on Halo 3 and Halo Reach (fewer on the latter) that have the right range for the sniping to be enjoyable. The bad part about BC2 is how everything is covered by a haze the further away it is.

GTA, but for different reasons. Sniping rampage of innocent bystanders and then a standoff with the police. Always fun.

TF2 is fun with both the Sniper rifle and the Huntsman, plus the Sniper has some awesome lines.

Oddly I did all of my sniping in that game with the m24. The .50 cal didn't really seem to offer much for all it's added stopping power as it still required a headshot to guarntee a kill and a hit anywhere else was generally sufficient if they were wounded with any of the bolt action rifles.

All Unreal Tournament games have delicious sniping. It's fast, feels powerful, and comes with an announcement if you're good enough to head shot someone. I miss the days when multiplayer was only about UT or Quake 3 (or CS, I guess).

FarCry 2 allowed for some great sniping. Sure there was no bullet drop or stuff like that, but there's a lot of fun to be had taking out a whole enemy base without them knowing where you are.

And if you want to get really old, Delta Force had some great sniping with rudimentary bullet drop. nothing quite like shooting a several millimetre tall stick-man from across the map on a resolution of 640x480 (I think)

Yeah, I found that out too. Another good one is the unique gauss rifle that you get at the top of the map. I managed to take out all the Deathclaws with that and Boone helping me with his normal hunting rifle.

World at War had decent sniping, provided you were on the right map.

I agree with NV; something about hearing the bolt get pulled back as you watch a raider drop to the ground is highly satisfying, and it's a good way to conserve ammo.

Another game is MGS4, although more for the tension. Camouflaged in the sand with full octocamo as people walk by you and you're lining up that shot is beautiful.
Plus the fight against Crying Wolf would be one of my most favorite Boss Battles ever

I find sniping in New Vegas fun. Nothing more satisfying than sitting on Cottonwood Overlook at a Legion camp with Boone; slowly, one-by-one, picking off all the Legionaries with my Gobi Campaign Rifle

Also, Gears of Wars 2 has pretty fun sniping.

EDIT: Does sniping in Gears count if I blow heads off using a Boltok Pistol? Because that's extremely satisfying.

I like sniping in games like Fallout, where sniper rifles are used properly. Sniper rifles are supposed to be used at extreme distances, with care taken to make each and every shot a kill shot. They are not supposed to be used when kicking a door down and clearing out a bunch of guys.
Really? That's my Deathclaw killin' strategy in New Vegas. That and arming Boone with a Minigun.
