Any game that allows you honestly different results on at least 2 plays through the game. Infinite is always better if its available.

The best "replay value" game I can think of is Minecraft. Everything is always random.

Okami, that game is just so huge no matter how often I replay it I still discover new things. Disgaea is pretty much the essence of replayability, or grind if you don't enjoy it. I also replayed DMC a lot, and I still feel I'm terrible at it since I can't jump cancel and in 4 I can't style switch as fast as the pros. SWORDTRICKSWORDTRICKSWORDGETSET

Basically any strategy game for me personally. Most other games I only end up playing 30hours max but with strategy games I can just keep playing and playing. However, I haven't play many in the past few years due to needing a new computer, hopefully that will change soon.

The Rock Band series. I will play songs I enjoy over and over and over again.

Saints Row 2. Still my ultimate "screw around" game. I had hoped SR3 would replace it, but no.
Agreed on SR2. When I beat SR3 my first thought was "That's it?". I'm not sure I've ever been more disappointed in a game.

I'm also not sure which between Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas I have played through more. I like the FO3 setting a little bit better because I live in Maryland while I will concede that New Vegas had a better story as long as you ignore the fact that your choices at the most basic level come down (usually) to Lawful Good or Chaotic Stupid. I also give New Vegas a slight edge in the DLC department though (and I think it's an overall shitty DLC) I do kind of wish that New Vegas had a Broken Steel DLC analog that let me see the outcome of my choices.

With older games Vagrant Story and Chrono Cross both come to mind for their replay value and also in how to do 'New Game+' correctly/well.

Civ, Age of Empire series, SC/WC, Dota, LoL, Diablo, Titan Quest, ME Series, Elder Scrolls Series, the Fallout series, a bunch of diffrent simulations like Transport Tycoon, everything Maxis spits out once in a while or Tropico, Gothic 1+2.

There are a bunch of them actually. There has to be variation in the way you solve your problems, diffrent endings, or in the case of multiplayer games alot of strategic/tactical depth.

Singleplayer games outside the RPG's kinda fall flat for me though. I wouldn't even have played ME multiple times, if there werent multiple paths to experience the story.
Most of the time it's either trying something new or perfecting something you already did.

Persona 3 fes and persona 4 define it for me. More so persona 3 fes because you can choose your weapon type (something I think will always keep persona 4 behind its predecesor personally) which sets up the protagonist to fulfill a different role each time better. Plus itss just fun to see how the game is different when you pick different teammates and.us different personae.

For me, any game where I discover more stuff with each play through. Red dead redemption and deus ex: human revolution are the big ones for me, I play those games at least once every six months, just to discover more stuff.

Arcade games shmups, brawlers, racers, fighters, puzzlers & lightgun games, brilliant for short gaming sessions and the core gameplay never gets stale.

It really depends on how you view replay value. If you mean something that never gets old...
Super Smash Bros Melee: arguably the most entertaining fighting game period

Fallout 3: One of the best adventure games ever made, despite its technical flaws

Castle Crashers: A funny, exciting beat-em up that's got great multiplayer and tons of unlockables

Fire Emblem 6 and 7: Good story, and many ways to play.

I grew up with nintendo, and now play mainly xbox 360. So there is my 2 cents

Nethack.

Doesn't matter how many times I complete it (eleven so far), I'm finding new things out about it every time I play.

Nethack. You can die on your first turn and it's game over, but years later you will still be finding interesting new things to do, and new challenges every time you play.

Edit: Darn you, Kinitawowi!

Torchlight II. Not only is it a bunch of clicking, but it is very satisfying clicking.

Well being at the absolute mercy of the AI director of Left 4 Dead 1 and 2 was what got me to keep coming back to it over and over again, so I guess my answers gotta be unpredictability.

Escapists,

I'm not going to lie to you, I'm of the opinion that Red Alert 2: Yuri's Revenge is the pinnacle of gaming. It is so finely crafted, so simple yet challenging, so infinitely replayable yet equipped with enough strategic depth to enable you to make no 2 games the same, that after the first time I played it some 7 or 8 years ago, I still find it just as exciting to play now.
This I agree with. I have played that game to death! I have had so many skirmishes against AI on brutal difficulty and seen my base wiped out in just a few minutes and I have managed to resist that first charge and actually managed to get them a few times.

Also Tales of Symphonia, Battle for Wesnoth and Super Smash Bros melee. Super Smash Bros melee is my most played game of all time with what is probably more than 1000 hours. Red Alert 2 is probably around 600, Tales of Symphonia is probably around 400 too and not sure how much I have played Battle For Wenoth, but I have played it on and off since 2004 or 2005.

For me good strategy games have hundreds of hours of replay value, games like the original stronghold, stronghold crusader, star wars galactic battleground, company of heroes, dawn of war etc

RPG's mainly stuff that has multiple choice and makes you say "I wonder what would've happened if I had picked option x instead of option y".

Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Oblivion and other such multiple option laden adventures, are good examples.

Games like Bayonetta are great and all but the only real options are "use a different weapon" and for someone who plays games primarily for the story like me, this is not a good enough reason to warrant 2nd playthrough soon after the first run.
