Sounds cool, I'll definatly be keeping an eye out for it.

Honestly though I've been hoping for a 40k CRPG to make an apperance at some point. There have been some decent PnP RPGs published based on that universe, and tons of novels, yet no real attempts to do anything like that. I know at it's core Warhammer and Warhammer 40k *are* strategy wargames, but it would be nice to see them mix it up a bit. Of course I'd imagine the relative failure of "Age Of Reckoning" had something to do with it as well.

That said "turn based" could wind up meaning a lot of things at this point, and how large a scale the decide to work on. Ideally I'm hoping we might see something like "Soulstorm" (or Dark Crusade) where you had both strategic and tactical elements to the game.

It's probably going to star Space Marines, because GW is so precious with their 'unofficial' mascots. In X-XOM terms that's like starting with Titan armour and Lasers for everyone, such is the relative power of Bolters to assault rifles. Not to mention having an unlimited budget for your base because nobody says 'you cannot afford that' to one of His Astartes... They might get away with 'we don't have the resources to make it ourselves'. The Imperium lost the ability to produce certain things; plasma weapons, dreadnauts, etc, after all.
Well, they could have you start out as a Scout Marine and give you "new" toys when you've proved reliable enough not to lose that Terminator armour aboard the first Space Hulk to come along. Besides, enemies in 40k tend to be rather douchy about playing fair, so the first mission in this hypothetical 40k-X-COM game would probably pitch you against an entire Waaagh!!!... With Squiggoths. And Gargants. And a Mega Gargant for the final boss.
