Second one: It was on the PS1. It was a FPS, where you were fighting against aliens. The only thing I can really remember is that you had a similar machine gun as in "Aliens", where there was a meter of sorts where you could see how much ammo you have left, on the weapons. The gameplay was mostly in dark corridors if I recall. I think the developer/publisher logo COULD have been like a grey owl or similar.

Okay guys, I really hope someone can help me out with this one.

The game I remember was a 2d top-down game in a fantasy setting where one or two players navigate through a dungeon and collect gold or something similar.

I remember that the game was impossibly hard to play with hordes and hordes of enemies coming down at you (one type of enemy was a carnivorous plant, and I think there also was a skull or a skeleton of some sort).
To fight, you could shoot a sword by pressing space, the sword was rotating while flying, and each enemy could be destroyed with one hit.
iirc, the second player used a bow.

The graphics were utter crap, and I think you moved by squares.

I'm really not entirely sure, but I think the name was something like "X & Y", two single words, similar to "Dungeons & Dragons".
It had a quite remarkable splash screen where some muscular dude stood in the middle, rescuing a girl. The background featured the enemies he's up against.

I would be really grateful if someone would remember what I'm talking about, because it has been driving me nuts for days now.

// edit: A friend of mine linked me to Gauntlet (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7mMJio2MO6w) which is shockingly similar to what I'm talking about. But the game I mean is older still..

// edit: FOUND IT! It's a Gauntlet clone called Demon Stalkers. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wbDfscXcrmg
Oh God... the nostalgia.

Hi all, The game i'm searching for is from at a guess between say 1997 and 2002, I thought it was around the same time as WarWind came out, I remember playing it on a Demo Disk back in the day. (time frame could be slightly out but i believe this to be about right)

Its a Top Down multi directional Space shooter, I remember it being based on a nice green map, plenty of trees around. You were in control of a (?)round spaceship and it was controlled with either wasd or arrow keys and shoot and aim with mouse from memory. The style of gameplay is not dissimilar to Continuum, however i'm sure it was mission based. I remember there being upgrades and stuff for the ship.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
is it descent or something likt that arniel?

Ok, here's one I'm dying to find. Difficult to describe enough to identify. It was a 2D action/adventure game for the PC where you are a little dude (maybe alien/creature) with a sword. I know it was pre-1995 and want to say was 1989-1993 release. I remember as you level up/advance, you got a better and better sword. I think it eventually is a fiery sword nearly as big as you. I think I recall your character having kind of a winged helmet. The game was side view (or profile-view like the original mario brothers, but weith better graphics). Your character would traverse the screen (would scroll to left or right) on ground that resembled something like donkey kong - you could climb up or down etc. Overall it was a bit of a maze. The levels were vaguely jungle like, but kind of alien jungle-y. I think the objective was to eventually rescue a princess. The game had save-games, as you couldn't site down and win the game in one sitting. I thought the name had a sci-fi/fantasy made-up name and I want to think it started with "Z", but I could be way off on that.

If anybody can get this based off my description, you're amazing!
Thanks!
Could it be "gods" gungadin?

It isn't a game I've played, but I remember seeing a WWII RTS/FPS hybrid sort of thing that apparently allowed you to switch between RTS and FPS modes. Nayone who knows what it is, please let me know.

Way back in my childhood i played a pc-game, it was an point-and-click adventure in a fantasy setting. I do have very faint memories of one of the female characters dying and a fountain that has a puzzle with the four elements. Not mush to go by but i will try to investigate more

I had an old NES game in Japanese, the cartridge was teal.

This game was a sidescrolling platformer and action game in which you play initially as one hero, and you traverse these worlds based on different things (one was based on ancient Japan, another was a graveyard in which you eventually went inside an area that looked a lot like Castlevania, another had the Easter Island rock carvings in the background, another was like a city...) and you had to rescue a whole bunch of other heroes that you can play as in future levels. There was also a weird professor in a lab who presumably explained your mission to you before every level, but I couldn't read it as a kid cause it was in Japanese.

Before the final level, there was a vertical shmup sequence where you fly up to outer space and into a spaceship. You go through the spaceship and you have to blow it up. You have to escape before it blows up.

Help me, please. This is one of the biggest regrets of my gamer life. I adored this game so much.

EDIT: FOUND IT!!!!!! WENT THROUGH GAMEFAQS LIST OF NES GAMES, COPY PASTED EACH AND EVERY ONE INTO GOOGLE, FROM A TO W, UNTIL I FOUND...

KONAMI WAI WAI WORLD!

Anyone ever remember a computer game in the late 90s-early 2000, you had to solve a conspiracy where if you gave it your phone number it would call you and play recorded messages, make you visit fake websites and have IM conversations to get further in the game. I think it had one word for the name. It was fun yet scary how it randomly calls you as it can span a few days just to get some parts of the puzzle going. You also had spots where you were hacking through security systems and guide people via a map.

Search bar approved - found things similar about what you miss IN games, but not actual games.

Now I'm doing this because you're all the knowledgable sorts on games (I'd like to think so anyway), therefore it would make sense to come here.

Anyways, I remember playing this old, old JRPG/RPG where you ran round a city and into forests etc. The colours were seriously bright, like grass was acid green. Near the start, you'd pop out to the forest and fight worms mostly for the start of it. Seriously can't remember the name of it, any help would be appreciated on what game this is :)

If anyone else has this similar problem, post them in this thread - somebody in the community is bound to know what game you're talking about :)
OK - First a game I remembered, and loved -

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Temple_of_Apshai

This was, like, IT for me when I was younger and playing around on my C64.

That and "Mail Order Monsters" - anyone remember that game?

Then there was this OTHER game - maybe the community can help me out here. It was ALSO played on my C64 and it was subtitled "Not of Earth or Sea" and called something like "Nonterraquatrens" or something... you played this little sphere that flew around and shot lasers at stuff, but the cool thing was you could pop this "umbrella top" out of your head and it protected you from flying/dripping stuff. Like... a head shield for your little floating sphere.

I want one of those "new" retro C64s just for the emulator software rumored to be included.

k well im not sure exactly the details cause the last time i saw this game around i was like 4 years old, lol, but i believe it was for the snes and the character was a little dragon or a dinosaur and i think on the opening screen there was a castle, and at one part of the game your dragon/dino guy is confronted by a large creature that you have to go inside it to defeat. its not spyro, but i do think the dragon thing was purple. and the second player was orange. correct me if im wrong, and shoot any answers my way if you have them. id really love to play this game again!!

Okay, so I got an account on here just so I can ask about this game because it's driving me crazy.

It was for the PS1 (I'm fairly certain) and you played as little green toy soldiers. (they looked exactly like the toys) and there were two different sides that were fighting. I even remember a part where you can go by these toy blocks, and drive tanks, use flamethrowers and search for mines.
I already looked this up and found a game called toy soldiers that was a lot like this, but the soldiers looked too fake to be the one I used to play. I really don't think that was the game. Help?

Possibly one of the eleven Army Men [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Army_Men_(series)] games released on the PS1?
