Well I'm getting into GT5 so maybe that. Demon's Souls at one time. STALKER: CoP too I guess. But honestly the one game I could probably have the longest conversation about would, sadly, be WoW. And I haven't played for nearly 2 years!

Yes, I am a mario kart double dash, smash, super mario bros and WoW fanatic. I could talk about those games for ages.

Also, mass effect 2 I can go on about for quite a while. And since I have been dubbed master of galaxies on super mario galaxy 2, I now can run my mouth about that as well.

not 4? and 3 is the best imo. simplified the story somewhat, introduced new more likeable and interesting characters and was just the mo fun to play.
I haven't played MGS 4 (it's killing me) so i don't think i can talk about it
its only like 15 bucks where im from (canada) go buy it!!!!
I would but i don't have a PS3

None in recent memory. In the past, Tribes and Mechwarrior 4. Eve Online was a hair more recent. The content of the discussions in Mechwarrior and Eve were similar, generally regarding different fitting ideologies. But where the rigors of Eve favor a solid good design rather than the bold and new, Mechwarrior 4 gave no penalty for a bad design save an unpleasant 15 minutes where one had their ass kicked again and again.

I fondly remember the time I spent in the mechlab, the time I spent arguing the merits of one chassis over another, the utility of some of the lesser used weapons (I was a huge proponent of the UA/C - 2. Most shunned it due to it's terribly low 2 damage per shot whereas I pointed out time and again that it did more DPS (substantially) than an ER Large laser and it was the longest ranged weapon in the game, plus it's high rate of attack meant return fire (especially at extreme range) was difficult to manage), and the rationality of having a mixed weapon approach rather than the commonly favored "boat" (a mech that had only a single weapon category was a boat. The missile boat (until the last expansion the most common implementation of the Mad Cat MK II was a missle boat) favored nothing but large batteries of LRMs while the laser boat (by far the most common mech when the game was launched) carried nothing but large numbers of ER Large lasers).

I've explained the entire story of Bioshock 1 and 2 to people before.

Oh, and Alan Wake, even if it is the hardest thing in the world to explain to someone who doesn't have a clue about it!

And you're deadly serious about a video game? Really, dude? It's a great game, but jeez, lighten up a little.
Who's the one who can't take a joke now? :D
I'm sorry but that retort.....didn't actually make sense. Just saying =/
May i suggest the classic "Your Face can't take a joke!" retort?
Very underrated those are.

Or wait, were you joking when you said "You should know by now that I take Bioshock deadly serious"? cause you didn't make that clear at all!
Sorry, I have a tendency to screw with people. You may find different sorts of people here at The Escapist.

Pokemon. I have a mate who by some ungodly reason knows just as much about competitive battling as I do and we really don't even battle anymore we just talk about it and the upcoming Black and White.

I know I am in the minority here, but I love discussing XIII(Xbox, Ps2, PC) That game had so many things worth talking about, it's a shame noone recognized it for the gem that I thought it was.

World of Warcraft. I'm pretty well-versed in the backstory, plots of the games, and I've read most of the books. Warcraft story discussion can take a while, even without mentioning strategies or talent builds.

And I haven't had a conversation like this with Pokemon or Minecraft, but I imagine they'd last pretty long as well.

oh easily kotor, that game has sucked away more reading and game time than any game i have played to date.

also

star wars battlefront 2 (im not a huge star wars fan i swear =\ )

that game i probably beat the campaign a good..50 times or so on elite, then i played conquest probably..60-70 times on elite?

that game..i had that shit down to a pat. you couldn't fucking touch me on the god damn field sometimes, i am still damn proud to this day beating the opponent without them getting a SINGLE spawn point and i captured them with 128 guys left in their arsenal when i captured their spawn.

Dragon Age: Origins for me, I think my friends that have played it are probably getting sick of me bringing it up. >>;

Edit: Oh, Probably The MGS Series, I may have not played the games but i have read up on the games many times and have watched LP's various times.

I could ramble for hours and hours and hours about WoW, Pokemon, and Fire Emblem.

I have an 80+ of all ten classes of WoW, and have played most specs. No matter what somebody plays or how much lore they've read or how many dungeons they've ran, I can find something to talk about.

Pokemon is quite simply rich in conversation potential, from rambling about favorites to arguing over competitive battling strategies.

Whenever I meet somebody in real life who has also played Fire Emblem, conversation invariably dissolves into arguging over tier lists and character choice and stats and stuff.

Fun.

No, really. It's fun to argue about stuff like that. :)

Stealth in an FPS actually done well, and satisfying? Visible enemy footsteps? Close-up shots of great kills? Getting the feel of an old-school conspiracy espionage movie so right?
