Legaia 2 was a great game, they should make more of them, but just didn't have as great a setting as the first.OrokuSaki said:Legaia 2 for the PS2. It was plenty of fun and I went in for multiple playthroughs..... until I beat it once and then never played it again.
I loved voodoo vince. I still have it laying around somewhere.Shoggoth2588 said:A ton of people will sing the praises of Psychonauts but another game that came out around that same time but was somehow given even less attention was a platformer called Voodoo Vince.
I've talked about Otogi and its sequel and that series is one of the Xbox exclusives that do seem to have a small following but NOBODY else seems to have played Voodoo Vince. Vince is a voodoo doll who has come to life and who must save his creator from a neck-beard. The game is made up of clever platforming, imaginative boss fights, a couple of semi-fun vehicle sections, items to collect etc. This is about as Rare as you can get without having your game made by Rare. The big gimmick for this game is a focus on combat and the ability to use screen-clearing Voodoo attacks. They're randomized outside of boss fights but they're still pretty cool little animations. The game is packed full of some pretty good humor as well. It wasn't all dark humor but remember, this game came out when Invader Zim ruled the Earth and it was impossible to escape the awesomeness that was dark humor. Sadly, this is only on the original Xbox and if you own a working one than you're actually in luck since it's inexpensive. It may be available on the Xbox Live store but I have no idea how well it might run. If you have a chance to play it, definitely do so. If you can't, it looks like someone did a lets play of it. It was fairly well received, Game Informer was the nicest to it giving it an 8.5/10, and Gamespy gave it a 3/5...on Metacritic it's sitting at a 73% so use that information however you chose in assessing its worth.
Yeeeep, still have the box and everything. Didn't get very far because of the aforementioned reasons and there are much, much better platformers for the Playstation: Spyro, Crash, etc.Randomosity said:The first is Rascal for the Playstation. It was a pretty good looking platformer (for its time at least.) But the camera sucked and the controls were bad. You used a bubble gun as your weapon. The levels looked cool at least.
I loved Scaler back in the day. Nowadays its a decent platformer that has a neat transforming mechanic.Storm Dragon said:There was this one game on the PS2 called "Scaler" that I played years ago. It was all right, but I got stuck on one level and never beat it. I think I might still have it lying around somewhere, I should see about finishing it one of these days.
I actually still own all 3 of those games, Evil Zone was the first game my daughter managed to beat (aged 18 months)Rebel_Raven said:Ah, what the hell, I'll bite.

I remember my friends talking about Oblivion all the time...until Skyrim came out and they just started talking all about that. It's the same thing with the early Call of Duty games, or the first two Grand Theft Auto games (which my best friend derides as "crap"). The later sequels just eclipsed them in terms of exposure and popularity.Rezalon said:When it comes to talking about The Elder Scrolls, my favourite all time series, everyone talks about either a) Skyrim b) Online c) Morrowind or even d) Arena or Daggerfall. No love for Oblivion?
Past me also mentioned Odama, if I'm not mistaken, but we both know that somseone on this site has played it before...FPLOON said:Virtua Quest: Yes, it's a spin-off of Virtua Fighter... No, I'm not making this up... Yes, I did LP this game TWICE; one on the GameCube and the other on the PS2... No, it's just THAT mediocre of a game, which is why not that many people actually know about it... No, I have no idea how many times I have mentioned this game on this forums...
I played IHNMAIMS when it arrived on gog.com and I liked it. I'd known about it for a very long time before that but I didn't read the story until after the intial production run had ended(thus finding a copy of the game was nearly impossible). I'm very glad that gog.com managed to find it and put it back on sale.carlsberg export said:I have no mouth and I must scream.
I've been playing a lot of point and click lately and this has been a favourite.
based on the short story and including the author voicing the main antagonist, I have found this game to be a good challenge.
the plot consists of a military supercomputer (allied master computer) becoming self aware and decides it hates humanity for making it highly intelligent yet unable move or act on free will, basically it is the equivalent of a paraplegic.
It renames itself AM from allied master computer as in 'I think therefore I AM' and kills every human on earth bar five people that it has kept alive and tortured for 109 years.
The game can be challenging and I enjoyed learning the back story to the survivors. I haven't finished with the 'good' ending yet though.
Gods will be watching.
another point and click adventure. The plot follows the story of two soldiers working undercover to infiltrate a terrorist organisation. I love the old style pixelated graphics and they help add to the shock when some rather brutal things happen, such as in the first scene when you may have to shoot escaping hostages or execute them.
