so, i was reading anotehr topic and it mentioned resident evil 5, and brought back a hole lotta memories.

i bought it a while ago hearing it was good, and i had been playing alot of L4D2 so i was in a zombie mood and it was £5 used so i picked it up.

i start it up, and the 7 hour long intro bores me to tears before letting me do anything. they finaly let me take control and it's basicly an intermission between two cutscenes, before putting me in a hut with a pistol.

half hour cutscene.

i finaly get to kill zombies and the fact that you need to hold RT and LT to shoot is a pain, but the fact that you move like the sensativity's on 0% is excrutaiting, added to the fact that you move as fast as i would through quick sand, before running out of ammo 3 zombies in and getting my ass handed to me by the boss. and mellee is also terrible because i need to stand still, take out the knife and then attack, put it back, move repeat.

i traded it back in a week later

but i'm done ranting now, the point is what games have you just hated from the start?

Chibi Robo. I liked the write up in NP and bought it on the spot. No, I looked forward to release. But having gameplay broken up every five minutes to go to night time, happy points, poor characterization.
I hated it

Starcraft. I LOVED the second one, but the first one was kind of a grind.

Burnout Legends and Eragon, both for the DS. Each competes hotly for the title of 'worst game Tharwen has ever owned'.

L4D2 is a good game.
Just because you have clunky robot claws for hands and can't handle it doesn't make it bad.
i'm not sure if you're replying to me or if you posted this in the wrong topic but i never said it was bad, i own it on 360 and PC.

He was talking about Resident Evil 5. He bought RE5 after *playing* L4D2 and being in a zombie mood. And it's his own opinion, we all have 'em, so no need to get snippy.

OT: The Force Unleashed for Wii. WORST. CONTROLS. EVER. It's the only game I've ever gotten, rented or bought, that I returned to the store 30 minutes later. I hate that game with the flaming fire of a thousand suns...and George Lucas needs to stop raping the franchise and do something *original* for a change, the lazy fuck...

And that's *my* opinion.

Games I hated from the start? Hmm. Sonic Unleashed, but I was playing that on a system I wasn't used to, which certainly didn't help. The only parts I liked were the 2D sidescrolling sections. Nothing worked as well as those. Just goes to show.

I can't really think of anything else, because, usually, if I think I won't like a game, I don't buy it. I've disliked game demos, but since those were free, they don't exactly piss me off like buying a full game would.

Oh, no, wait, I just thought of something! TNA iMPACT. That game. I basically played through only one or two rounds before I knew I hated it. The hell was up with the controls for that game, and the weird ass storyline? And this is from someone who used to buy every single WWE game as a kid.

I should probably go back and try that game again, just to spite it by beating it.

I hate Dungeon Siege. The game opens up, you kind-of-sort of create a character (You can be male or female, not that it matters. Appearence-wise, you have a wide variety of brown and blue pants and shirts available, not that it matters since those will be covered up by your new armor in a few minutes.), then you left-click.

And that is all.

Combat? Run up to an enemy by left-clicking on him, then kill him by left-clicking on him.

Travel? Walk by left-clicking where you want to go.

Puzzles? Left-click on a lever once to solve a puzzle.

Leveling up? Left-click on one of FOUR SKILLS to level it up.

Dialogue? Left-click to skip it, because the voice-acting is awful and the plot does not matter.

Astro Boy (PS2)

It says something about me that I stuck through playing it even though it was a dull piece of crap.

I've beaten this horse to death, but Grand Theft Auto IV.

I've never been a huge GTA fan, but I've at least enjoyed the other ones. GTAIV was a chore right from the start. I've tried a few times to push past the stuff I hate, but it just keeps wearing me down.

Uncharted. I just didn't see what was so special about that game. It was pretty and everything, but the gameplay was bland and repetitive.

Same. I didn't have a clue what was going on, why I was doing it, who I was fighting, where I was going and why I was given a sixth of the amount of ammo I actually needed to complete the damn level.

That's probably because you got it on Wii, to be fair :p
I'm not defending the story or anything, but the PC version is quite fun.

For me, probably the Witcher, Hospital Tycoon or whatever it was called and Farcry 2.
I wanted to like you Farcry 2, I really did, but you didn't want to work with me. And sometimes I can handle the Witcher, but I ALWAYS want to punch Geralt's smug slutty face in.

1.) Everything beyond Final Fantasy VI bums me out. (except Tifa from 7. I like Tifa.)
2.) Any and all Grand Theft Auto games (or anything remotely like it.)
3.) Sports games. (You can actually go and play sports with people, you know. And pretend for way less money to be sports celebrities.)
4.) Racing games.
5.) Most of the recent Resident Evil series additions.

I'm sure there are more, but these are the first five I thought of.

Grand Theft Auto & any sport-related game on principle.

That I hated for being a bad game?

Assassins Creed 2. I got so fed up with it right at the start.

What was so wrong with AC2 may I ask?

Can't think of a game that I actually hate, one that I can't find one good thing about.

If I had to pick one, I'd go with that Amnesia game Yahtzee did a week or two back. He said it was good, so I got the demo. It was freaking me out, getting me jumpy, just like I like my horror games...
Then the water bit. Didn't tell me I was meant to stand on the boxes until after I'd died and halved the immersion. Then I just couldn't work out what to do.
Fear went out the window, turns into a crap platformer in which you can't even jump from one box to the next.

I'm sure it gets better the more you go on, but I don't really care if I have to go through that.
